May I pick your brains for a moment...
Im thinking of just accepting the quote online and not telling them any more than I have to, at the end of the day if they have insured me on an import 1990 Nissan 300zx Turbo its there problem if theyve given me the wrong price. If im wrong in thinking this please tell me, thankyou. Im just going down to the bodyshop to pick her up now :D

Its an import but in a seperate box it asks this and i put that it is a jap import, also several of the results come back to say that the insurance company will not quote on imported vehicles.

May I pick your brains for a moment...
Im currently sorting out insurance quotes and confused.com have confused me. They cannot find the reg of the car to find its details presumably due to it being an import. My car is a 1990 TT Manual and the options available to me are '300zx Non Turbo', '300zx Turbo Coupe' (90-94) or '300zx Twin Turbo Hatchback' (89-98)and a few others. Now i didnt know there was coupes and hatcbacks and iv searched google images and cant find a difference, also I assume that '300zx turbo coupe' must mean twin turbo mustn't it? Anyway iv had quotes on both and for '300zx Turbo Coupe' it was half the price of '300zx twin turbo hatchback'. Can I just put that mine is a 300zx Turbo Coupe to get the cheaper insurance? Or are they actualy two different models? Sorry if I seem a little stupid, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Alex.

Hi all
Thanks all. Nope no smoke so far but I havent driven it much post decat yet. I found out about the turbo seals problem while it was in the garage having it done, I'm not to worried tho, things breaking is realy just an excuse to replace them with uprated items :D. Il get some pics up once Iv had the bit of paint done that needs doing and its been given a good mop. It's going in monday after next for it. Monster21 - Iv had my share of Hatch's, in my 3 years of driving Iv had more cars than I can count, from a Fiesta to an M3 evo and everything in between, the Z is one of the only ones Iv gone back to for a second helping though and hopefully I'l manage to keep this one for a while. Thanks again for all of your welcome's and hopefully Il have some pics up for you in a couple of weeks. Oh yeah and Im sure Ill need technical advice a'plenty.

Hi all
I just thaught I'd introduce myself. I had a 1991 Jap TT manual two years ago and it was a bit of a nail, it gave me nothing but trouble, when i sold it I swore I'd never have one again... ...I'm 20 now and have just baught Z number 2, a black 1990 Jap TT manual, I'v had her just over a week. Its got 49,500 miles on the clock and runs incredibly well, sounds perfect and theres no smoke at all. Now for the funny part, in this first week I'v already had to replace the clutch and sort a misfire that it developed (easy job - bad connection on a coil pack). Also the cat was rattling quite loud so I'v got rid of it and had two nice straight through pipes put on. Its running perfectly again now so I realy hope the above wasnt the start of things to come. Just a few little bits of body work to do and it'l be mint.
