No power at inside fuse box
Thanks heaps guys, Yes it was the relays behind the kick panel, the accessories relay had actually fallen off into the well. This was probably during the fitting of the Lambo doors where they needed to pull through some extra cable to allow the doors to open upwards. When I checked the first time I didnt pull it off all the way so I couldnt tell that it was missing(not knowing how many there were supposed to be), so I just checked that the others did work. Once totally frustrated I then came back to it and inspected further. Any way all done now, thank god ! It's absolutely pissing down with rain here for the last week and my wife is full term, I couldnt imagine having to drive her to the hospital in the middle of the night in pouring rain with no wipers, no dimisters with fogged up windshield and her screaming at me to hurry up!!!!! Thanks again....

No power at inside fuse box
I have checked all the fuses inside the cabin and under the bonnet. How do I know if the relay under the fuses is not working ? can I safely swap it with another temporarily???? Is this relay accessible without removing the fuse box? All power on the indicator/lights side work, just not the Aircon/wipers and mirrors/clock.

wiper/aircon pod no power
I need to check mine also, but it looks very difficult to remove, I dont want to damage the wires.... Is there any easy or std way to remove it??? eg removing the connectors first etc.

No power at inside fuse box
:headvswalI have a problem where the Air con, power mirrors, wipers, cig lighter etc have no power. I have checked all fuses and have found there to be no power entering the above fuses inside the drivers compartment. Where does this power come from and how can I find its source??? Preferably without having to rip everything out to do so. If I apply a positive lead to the wipers fuse (from the front)the wipers work. I assume the same will ocur for the rest.

Electrical Problem -Main Harness ???
Hi I recently had some work performed on my car where my doors were removed, after reinstalling the doors I now have no Aircon, wipers, washer, glove compartment light, nor electric mirrors. I have looked at the wiring diagrams on the net and traced it back to what seems like the main harness, possibly the body grounds on both sides. I havent removed the door covers yet to check but it seems as though this is a common dinominator. Does anyone know where the wires are supposed to connect???? the picture is not clear enough. I have checked the fuses under the bonnet and the fuses inside the front compartment, all are fine. Any other ideas ?? The repairer claims not to have touched anything else other than the doors but does not remember any loose wires.....

Plastic thingy inside left guard
Hi, I'm removing my front guards to install a set of Lambo hinges. When I removed the left side I found a plastic canister thingy mounted on the inside of the guard right behind the wheel, it has a hose coming out. Does anyone know what this is ? And can I move it down slightly without damaging anything ? Also is there anything similar on the drivers side as well ?(right hand side).

Water leak at rear of motor
It looks as though the leak is coming somewhere behind the motor low down very close to the connection between the motor and the gearbox, cant exactly see it, but up high the motor looks dry, it may be slightly towards the right hand side (looking towards the front from inside). How many outlets are there for the water, I might be able to rule them out one by one !!!

Water leak at rear of motor
Thanks for the photo, I believe you may be right because I cant see any water leaking nor any wet pipes etc from above. I will get underneath tomorrow to see exactly where it is coming from. I asume it took 8 hours because of its awkward position, did you need to remove anything to get access? By the way the motor looks great!!!

Water leak at rear of motor
My car got pretty hot last night (not to the H only top of the bar) when I checked I found the resevoir bottle leaking, so took it to the Radiator place and pressure tested it, all the water came pissing out the back of the motor somewhere, my mechanic wasnt interested in doing the job because the top all had to come off(too big for a small job) he suggested taking it to Nissan because they will have all the new gaskets etc to do the job. Does anyone have any experience with these hoses, and can I do it myself without too much difficulty.... :headvswal It happened just after I turned the boost back up to about 14psi on a long run, I dont know whether this has any bearing on it or not !!!

Dyno Boost - Any one heard of this ???
Dyno-BOOST is a fully adjustable, programmed performance control unit designed for all vehicle fitted with ECU, simply wires inline with the factory harness of the IAT (Intake Air Temperature) sensor and into the plug of Oxygen sensor(s) in the exhaust. You will receive crisp acceleration, much more horsepower and torque, lower quarter mile times and surprisingly increased throttle response. Installation is easy, no - special tools or expertise required. Gain +15-35 additional HP, and extremely dynamic acceleration by up to 30 % in contrast to factory engine performance. It works in conjunction with stock ECU and will not affect engine reliability or endurance. Original ECU program is in process, but the signal of Dyno-BOOST is overwriting it in each microsecond resulting richer air/fuel ratio, accordingly delivering peak horsepower, torque and acceleration. Sounds good but it sounds like it has the potential to really stuff things up as well !!!! Has anyone else heard of this or tried it ?

what do you think of this on ebay???
Hi I almost bought one last week, (got outbid while I was out !) but have since been put off by other 300zx owners. There doesnt seem tho be alot of confidence in this chip.:nono: Have you installed it yet ? and if so what was your honest impressions etc. It's great being able to communicate with others who have the same ideas and those who know more about these mods etc.....

Upgrade ECU Chips
Ok let's look at it in a different way, what do I have to do to my lovely car to get that kind of power ? Will it still be a reliable car to drive ? What costs would be involved ? approx ? any help would be appreciated, thanks guys and maybe girls too , sorry !

Upgrade ECU Chips
Thanks for the cmments, My foremost requirement is reliability, followed by a car that is easy & fun to drive (ie as quick as I can get before having to make major mods like cracking open the motor etc). I dont want a race car that can only be driven at high speeds but around town is a nightmare !!!(thats why I sold my Porsche, fantastic on the open roads but a dog in the city). I guess a nice target would be approx 400 rwhp if its not too unrealistic. Also does anyone know how much extra hp is gained when the boost is increased to approx 14 psi ???? And does anyone have any experience with boost nozzles ? ie what size openings etcand does it have to be with a new chip, thanks heaps....

Upgrade ECU Chips
Hi I'm new to the 300ZX world (previously mostly V8's and a Porche Carrera 911, it now feels good to kicks the V8's arses...),I live in Australia but it seems you guys are more into the 300zx scene than we are here. I saw a stage 3 chip on ebay here in Oz for a claimed 400rwhp made by Marobi ???? To me this seems virtually imposible with the following details : With this chip Your 300zx will put out a staggering 400 BHP at the wheels. You will need a free flow air filter. A good free flowing exhaust. 440cc injectors........but this chip will work with standard 370cc injectors as long as you don't go mad with the boost, stay at around 14psi boost.......or just tweak your fuel pressure regulator for a bit more fuel. This chip is mapped to adjust fueling and timing for up to 17 psi boost. REMEMBER THE STOCK TURBO IS ONLY GOOD FOR 15 PSI TOPS.BUT THIS IS NOT THE LIMIT OF THE CHIP Rev limiter is raised, and speed limiter is removed on imports. Engine timing will want to be set at 15 degrees EXACTLY. And of course the higher the octane rating petrol you use, the more performance. As they say if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is....... ALSO I have heard that if you insert boost valves it too will increase your power if so what size should the hole be and does it have to be in conjunction with a new ECU chip. My boost is currently running at about 14 PSI. I havent played around with the setting but it doesnt seem to be pinging, but I do run out of steam at about 6000rpm (it is a Jap import). Any help would certainly be appreciated.
