Ok here goes. I managed to get my plenum off today after a mind blowing task so i was just wondering do i get rid of all the pipes underneath as im going to do a water bypass or are there any vaccum hoses there.

I know how you feel mate ive only had mine just under a year and only driven it a handful of times the rest of the time im trying to work on it or thinking of what to do next.lol

planning on doin a plenum pull plus water bypass. Just wondered if any one on here knows what size hose is needed and lenght plus what will benifit from being changed for new whilst the jobs being done ie gaskets valves and other hoses..

how do you do a sniffer test as i have never heard of that before

hi all. Just wondered if my pcvs could been cleaned as a bit of white smoke on start up and tic over or is it easier to just buy new..

:scared:i recently Replace o rings under balance bar and re connected all the hoses and when i started the engine all was good until a small amount of smoke came trickling up the back centre of engine with a hint of a oily smell just wondered if any one would know what this was and could point me in the right direction as to fix it.

you could try putting a 10mm bolt through and a big socket at one end with a large washer and nut a keep cranking the nut and see if it will pull the bolt and bush through. spray it with wd40 first.just a suggestion but worth a try mate.

Just wondered what the advantages are bypassing the water hoses when removing the plenum as i might tackle this my self as i have heard that most of you seem to be doing this if you haven't already. Would also like to know what to change whilst its off ie gaskets hoses ect..Any advice would be gratefully recieved..:wacko:

check that the metal contacts in side the bulb holder are making contact with the bulb as this happened on mine just the other day. Just make a few adjustment and should work a treat also check the wiring and for corrosion..

When you say wiring was loose which ones or where abouts on engine as mines doing the same on my tt import and i would love to solve the prob. Checked the maf coil packs and ptu also done ecu check came back 55 so all clear as far as i know. So any advice would be great cheers ...

Just thought i mention that the car starts and idles fine but as soon as you rev the car past the half way mark on the boost gauge (in dsah) it starts to miss fire as if its trying to stall also quite a strong smell of fuel from exhausts any more advice would be grateful thanks..

Thats wht i got one as there wasn,t any about at the time (loads of supras scoobies etc. But you just have to love them thats why theres a few more around.

Just a quick update cant find any leaks on hoses and such like all connections maf seem alright but engine is running real lumpy even on tick over.
