  1. i sold it for 5k last sept so something must have happened it. i got a full respray done and it was mint when it left my yard. the lad who had it after made a mess of the interior. still was a very good car but couldnt afford to tax it anymore so got rid of it.
  2. worse case would be like mine and its dett. mine happened when engine hits boost and as is said sounds like marbles in a jam jar. Hope its only something small for your sake as i took me 4 months to sort my rattle out.
  3. After Many months of changing this and fixing that i may have found my solution to the dett problem. So far i have changed both o2 sensors coil packs cleaned all injector connection and then replaced cas unit as my timing kept slipping. re aligned my cam belt 3 times as i kept thinking it slipped a tooth. More recently changed my Fuel pump (thanks to Phile). So this morning i took off my aac and replaced it. connection on it were loose which caused my revs to go up to 2000 rpm. sorted that and replaced a fuel pipe beside the fpr. Jumped in as i have done 100s of time before not holdin out much hope but on the hill up to the house i planted the foot and hey presto no marbles in jam jar. i still expect it come back but as the weather is fine might throw the targas in the boot and go for a long drive and enjoy the sun.
  4. ill be in croke pk watching tipp beat Killkenny while my Z is sittin my garage with the front of the engine stripped down. Belt slipped a tooth or 4 again so think of washing my hands of Z and buying a Mini. Enjoy tommorow.
  5. sorry i cant make it. fuel pump has gone and cant afford a new one. would love to be there again but funds are low. have a great day though. hope ye get the weather like last year.
  6. yea i thought that too. cant understand it. i have checked the resistance of each injector and it read 13.2 on all of them so i think they are fine. but the scan keeps saying o% on duty cycle. ??????????????????????????????
  7. When i do a scan the duty cycle show as 0 at idle and on rev. as i am not too up to date with the data scan as yet can anyone shed some light on this. and also can this cause my dett problem (yes still got the bloody dett problem) Thanks
  8. Iv tried everything else to cure my dett problem and was just thinking that my fuel pump might be the cause. its very noisey most of the time and may be causing it to run lean. might be way wrong but i am running out if ideas now. Already changed O2 sensors, checked timing belt and Adjusted Tps to 40 and fixed timing to 15 degrees. Oh also tried another ECU just to be sure. Put in a Octane boost as fuel here is crap. but might not have been a good brand. Have i missed something.
  9. sorry to hear about your mom Trish. Hope she gets better soon. My car is been handed into a place called predator motorsport today and i dont want it back till its done. i hate having to pay for problem that i can sort myself but this has me baffled.
  10. slowly or fast really makes no differance but you can hear the rattle more when you get boost. get it checked by jeff in zedworld to be on the safe side.
  11. bad news again lads. rattle is back. noticed it yeasterday morning and got really pissed off with it. so i striped down the cambelt to make sure it was on rite. seems it may have also slipped a tooth so put it on correct double checked it and then checked again. put it all back together re timed it to 15 degrees making sure my tps was at 40 and took it for a run. rattle still there. ( think its laughing at me now). so today i put some spare O2 sensors on it and its still the same. so i am gonna have to bite the bullit and give it to a specialist tommorow. i hate getting beat by something but i just cant fix this one.
  12. slight misfire cause of the 5 degrees timing but its better than the rattle. will let a specialist look at it tomorrow anyway. Thanks for all your help lads its much appreciated.
  13. ok looks like i have victory. where do i start. ok i added a can of pro boost as i was told by jamie that the octane level might cause. so after doing that with no real improvment i decided to proper check the timing again. this is where the fun started. attached all my leads and lamp and to my amazement my timing was set at 35 degrees BTDC. my jaw dropped. so i set it back to 15 and the rattle decreased quiet a bit but not gane. so i rang a mecanic friend who said that pre ignition is a common problem and suggested that i drop it to between 5 and 10 and see if it makes a differance, which i did and away she went flying. i also noticed that my ECU has a series 1 chip so dropping the timing i was told is the thing to do. i dunno but it worked.
  14. trying to get a hold on jeff but the phone number on the website turns out to be a fax number (getting the fax sound). does anybody know the number.
  15. once the other members dont mind as i would love to meet up with everyone but the way my car is could be a while. bringing it to a specialist tomorrow to see if he can shed some light on the problem but doesnt look too good im afraid.
