  1. I need to replace the rear Shock Absorbers on my 1990 N/A to pass the MOT. I don't want to spend a fortune so I'm seeking advice on what and where I should buy. Rae
  2. This just goes to show the 300ZX is loved by all ages. As a member at the highest end of the age scale I have owned a 300zx or two in some form for several years. The debate will continue over TT or NA ? manual or auto? import or J Spec?. We all have our favorites. The 300ZX is a classic car in any form and deserves a place in anyones collection for daily or casual use. The only requirement - have fun! Rae

  5. Hi, I have an import -1990 NA. In getting to know the car I'm currently trying to resolve why the permanent feed ( yellow cable) into the radio hardness is not live. I have located the fuses in the drivers well - but on removing the plastic cover - the green fuse ID label is in Japanese - Does any one know where I can get a translation so I can ID the fuses? I have checked the on-line manual - electrical section, and this does not really help me. Thanks Rae
  6. For those of you interested - I resolved this problem I eventually got time to check a few things - The problem was that I had blown the power lock 10A fuse in the main fuse box. Perhaps when I replaced the battery - not sure. Replaced fuse and away I went. First drive of this 300zx since I purchased it - I tell you , the 300zx in any form has to be the best cars to drive - as Toyota say - "Oh, what a feeling! " Thanks for responses. Regards
  7. Thanks The car is parked on a flat service and was driven into that postion about two weeks ago. When I tried to start the car last week - the battery was flat. This is when I recharged the battery. After reinstalling the battery I started the car - but must admit I did not test the transmission. That was not until today. When you start to think about of anything that has changed since things were okay - the only other thing was that I extended the earth cable to the battery as it was too tought. Regards
  8. Scotty said " on the front of the gear lever is a small button, press this down whilst engaging gear." AndyP siad "There is a little red switch down the back of the gear stick, try pushing that down (or up - can't remember)." Yes, I'm aware of the release button and this is pressed on trying to release without success. As I mentioned it feels just like it the does when the key is not in the ignition. Regards
  9. Paul@swz asked "does the gear stick itself come out of park ?" Hi, The gear stick does not come out of park Regards
  10. Hi, The problem remains - Its like when the key is not in the ignition The car starts fine. I did take the battery out to charge but I can't see why that would cause the problem. Thanks
  11. Hi, Have recently acquired a 1990 300zx N/A. I have only driven up and down the driveway whilst I waited for the car papers to be finalized. Went out this morning to move the car and find that the transmission is stuck in Park. No warning lights but if you pull the changer back slightly there is a regular beeping. I have only seen this on a few cars and when you placed your foot on the bake pedal it released the lever. Any ideas. Regards Rae Thanks
