  4. 90-92 NA's are 8 bit (93 NA's are 8 bit depending on the month) 90-94 TT's are 8 bit everything above those are 16 bit. 1996 is OBD II It is possible to socket and chip a 16 bit ECU Ashspec and JWT does it. You can tell an 8 bit ecu on the outside by the gold color it has 16 bits are silver. An 8 bit ECU has a doughter board built in. The 16 bit does not. Here is an ECU identification chart http://jimwolftechnology.com/wolfpdf/ECU-ID.PDF
  5. Z1 Motorsports is looking into being a sponcer of this Forum. I was wondering how to go about doing that and what the details are. If someone could PM me or email me about how to do this that would be great. ;)
  6. Check your Temp sensor to make sure there is no corrosion on the plug. Or change the temp sensor. ( located in front of the engine on top of the water pipe.) There are 2. One has a single prong(water temp gauge signal) the other one has 2 prongs.(water temp ECU signal) If the 2 pin plug isnt making good contact it the wire then it make the ECU think the car is running hot and you will run incredibly rich and it will retard the timing. Or Check your ECU for codes. http://www.ttzd.com/tech/diagnostictech.html Usualy the PTU isnt the culprit, its the PTU adapter harness. Also check for corrosion here. If this doesnt help i sugest these comon things to look at http://twinturbo.net/ttnetfaq/FAQpages/hesitate2.html JT JT@300zx.com
  7. It all depends on how they programed it. It should be fine on a Stock TT.
