Hi Im looking at getting a 300/ any advice?
Hi folks me again! Ive been looking at the 200's but there are sooo many nice rides on here i keep coming back to the 300's na, from reading the post's it does seem like there a BIT cheaper to run and i guess if i did go for one i would have to accept the fact that im too stay single and stop going out as much!! Question for you tho i know ive asked about insurance but as theres so many different mods done to these cards it would be hard for me to get an accurate "imaginary" quote from an insurer..... SO any else around the 27 mark with not a huge amount of driving experience under thier belt? how much do you need to fork out and do you declare everything? thanks again drooling over pics....

Hi Im looking at getting a 300/ any advice?
LOL!! i wish i was mate wish i was Im in IT wrong career choice for car fixin! She failed on brakes so ive done most of that myself then 2! VW dealer's gave me the incorrect bleed procedure! so after much swearing ive given up for now as the car is at oldmeldrum and its a nightmare getting bus's. she also needs a small brake pipe and the rear brake compensator valve free'd up but im not the greatest under a car. then a retest and she should be fine BUT if i do decide to keep her then she will need a new timing belt a new clutch and a full service and theres a couple of small rust patchs showing!! was quoted about £825 for the lot on average.... considering she's got 132k and was quite cheap (bought in glasgow) i might just run her over winter and sell her on, theres nothing wrong with the clutch per say but you know what like when its yours you want it perfect. Im guessing you know your stuff if your making your TT a mechano project

lol i like the idea of your running costs...i want this to be my daily driver and i dont do that many long trips but i think 3000 miles is not enough as i love driving round the scottish back roads! but that is a more attractive amount to be spending.... oh and thanks for the welcomes :hyper:

Hi Im looking at getting a 300/ any advice?
Hi folks firstly some lovely looking cars on here seeing them has made my mind up that i want one! :D I was wondering if you could impart soem friendly advice on buying and insuring? I have no experience of Nissan im a Vw golf man at present and with a limited budget to style the 300 series looks the business and the fact theres such a big following for the car that gives me some confidence. If you were me and had about 3k to spend on one what things would you look for and what could i hope to expect from this amount the other thing i need to consider is the fact im 27 and have been driving for only a year (i know bit of a lazy one!) My current car is a mk3 golf gti 8v so theres going to be insurance to consider my current fully comp amount is £401 which considering it was £698 last year isnt bad! Does servicing cost a lot? Is there a lot to consider from the import versions? i would want a manual gearbox, are these harder to find? what sort of things can go wrong and can it turn into a money pit quickly? I have lots more im sure but i thought i would take it easy with my first post!! thanks for any input folks Kev :duffer:
