An elephant :) Kind of suits me some how :)
  2. Same here :) Seanson 3 can't come round quick enough.
  3. Sounds like a dodgy coil pack connector or one of the wires going to it. Mine has the same problem but it only happens when I disturb something. It goes down to 5 cylinders, so I try to find out whats wrong, then after about 5 mins of me unpluging/plugging connectors and wiggling wires it just goes back to 6. Usually when I've just about given up. From memory the 3 wires going to the coil packs are +12v with ignition on, permanent earth, and the other one runs to the left hand PTU connector and tells the coil pack when to spark. The earth and 12v are easy to check, but the other one a bit of a pain as you have to remove the connector off the PTU. I checked all of mine and didn't find anything wrong, but it was running on 6 at the time so that makes sense. Also, try checking the pins in the coil pack connector, to make sure they're not shoved too far up or or bent apart or something. Never heard of this but you never know. That's alll I can think of at the mo. Rob
  4. Got my nitrous working yesterday :) :) so hopefully should get some good times :) I'll not be using on all my runs though, gonna try and set my launch control up first.Who else is going to be running then? Rob.
  5. As the title says. What do I do now? Cheers Rob.
  6. Yeah I'll be there too :) fingers crossed I get my nitrous working :( Rob.
  7. The other week I went to my nearest shell garage and they didn't have any Optimax :( so I turned around and went to the next nearest Shell and they didn't have any either :( :( By this point the petrol warning light was on so I put £5 of normal stuff in so I could get to tesco and put 99RON in. Anyway, when I was paying for my whole £5 of fuel I asked the guy why there was no Optimax and he said they had stopped selling it for a few days while they changed it to 100RON :) Don't know if this is true or not but it came from an employee of Shell so it could be, although I've not seen it advertised anywhere so prob not. Rob.
  8. Could you tell me how much your paying to the centre box sorted out mate. I want to get mine done too, but not because it's knackered, I just want it louder :) It's allready a HKS stainless but it's not quite loud enough. Cheers
  9. Yeah mate black Z :)
  10. Yeah, i'm up for that mate. I'm gonna need 2 runs though (with and without NOS) so do I count as 2 people? Rob
  11. Yeah, that's my Z :) Fitted it last weekend. I've had the nitrous on for about a year though. I only use it on the strip as nitrous is f***in expensive. Like a few of you said it is to clear the nitrous line of air so it doesn't hesitate when you flick the nitrous on (which it did, but now doesn't) It's not just for real drag cars either as all the principles are the same. It may not be to everyones liking, but I'm well pleased it. Gonna scare the guy next to me on the line at Pod the next time I go :) and come on, if you had nitrous fitted, your telling me you wouldn't get a purge valve? Cheers Rob.

Just another note. I was aiming for about 1.1 bar when I set the duty to 65% so if you don't want to run that much boost, start at about 60% Rob B

You can tell if you have a boost leak (well, vac leak) with the AVCR. At idle I think mine reads about 450-480 mm per something or other. I spent ages searching TT.net when I was setting mine up and I came to the conclusion every car is different. Set the boost level you want, then set the duty at about 65%. Go for a run in your car and if it spikes reduce the duty a couple of %. If it doesn't reach your boost level quickly enough then increase the duty a couple of %. After a few full throttle runs it starts to self learn the duty anyway and changes it for different rev levels. This is what I did, and mine works fine now. A little bit of boost spike but not much. Hope this helps. Rob B
  15. Managed to get up to 170 on the clock then had to slow down because it was 7 pm on the M6 and it was still quite busy. That was nearly 4 years ago though when I was young and stupid. Now I'm just stupid  but I've not tried it since. Rob
