Cheers for the advice mate. I placed an order for some drilled & grooved Brembos + Hawk pads from SWZ Performance... but not sure if that's still going through. I need my car for work (it's not so good without the brakes), so may look up the guys you recommend and get the to sort me out. Do you have contact details for them? So I take it the stock brakes were never up to much then ;-) Cheers!

Was about 3-4 weeks back now... I picked it up, but the dude I picked it up from (sorry, can't remember his name) was well ill! He just took the money and said he'd put a recepit in the post. Is there any easy way I can check it's been done (looked at the oil, but that pretty thick and gloopy still - doesn't look changed)?

Evening Zedders, I've just signed up, so thought I'd say 'Hi'. I've already had a couple of folks off the forum put my mind at rest re: the situations at both Ztec (apparently recovering) and SWZ Performance (apparently also recovering)... thanks for that guys! I was begining to think my recent Zed purchase was going to be one long battle with garages and parts suppliers! A little background (soz, no pics on yet!) - previously an MR2 pilot I've upgraded to the majestic Fairlady. Loving the weighty boost kick and it's actually nice to have a little more space in the car! It's a whole new experience trying to drift the thing, but I'm getting the hang of it (just practicing in the wet at the mo.)... they're pretty heavy cars! Currently going through brake issues - fronts have little / no pad or disk left, and the missus it banning me from driving with only a handbrake between me and an expensive smash :-( If anyone else out in the Reading / Berks area has any reccomendations for garages, parts suppliers or particularly Zed-friendly roads ;-)... then gimme a shout. Cheers guys - you've restored some of my faith! I was starting to seriously wonder what was going on. Sorry to hear about Paul's mum... that sucks. I'll try to be a little more understanding - was just thinking after the number of messages I'd left that something was a bit dodgy! Glad to hear Ztec is back up and running - I'll try to get in touch again (Scubie - do you have their new no.) I could really do with a.) the receipt for the work done and b.) peace-of-mind it was actually done!!! Hope they're getting back on track! Cheers guys - you've cheered me up!

Hey dude, Good luck getting the bumper fixed! there's a place down Cardiff Rd that does repairs / body - they'll try to rip you off tho, I ended up going DIY :-( So you're one of the Reading Zeds then. I've recently joined that exclusive club. Saw you and the missus in your Zed the other day I reckon - last Thurs. Looked crazy-low! I've got another red one, but with some 'distinctive' (hey - they're not THAT bad!) white wheels ;-) If you know of anywhere that can fit some front brakes in the Reading area I would be muchos grateful! I've currently got a lovely Zed + boost controller (i.e. lots of GO), but my method of stopping is pulling very hard on the e-brake! Trying to get some brakes ordered and fitted, but you'd have thought I was trying to order moondust from monkeys! What's with these so-called Zed Specialists!!!?!?? C'ya local hopefully!

I've tried Ztech - seemed good when they were still in business. Apparently did a 60K service on my Zed, but gave me no recepit and don't answer my calls when I'm trying to book the Zed back in, or get a recepit for the service. Their behaviour makes me think they just took the £500 and ran! Ordered some parts through SWZ Performance early last week and have left MANY, MANY messages with them (email, phone, online message system) - heard NOTHING back! As much as I love my Zed (and I REALLY do!) the trials and tribulations of finding reliable garages / parts-suppliers are making me wonder whether it was really the right decision... Can anyone put my mind at rest and tell me WTF is going on with the guys I've been trying to deal with, or (better still) point me in the right direction to find a reliable garage in the Berkshire area?
