  7. just be careful about them bud, if again the graph is to be believed they completly run out of puff at 5000 rpm which is the main power band of a zed so yes there very good and stock like spool up but very flat in the mid and high range, thats why i said the 2530's as there a good alrounder??
  8. trust me guys even on a cast manifold on my R32 the 2530's come in hard and i had 1 bar of boost at 3000 revs and they keep pulling like a train to redline!! i think the graph is a little misleading as well, so if the graph is to be believed if you set a stock car at a 4600 rev limit and macs car at a 4600 rev limit the stock car should be quicker????

  10. funny i was going to say everyone i have spoken to that have T28's have all said there dissapointed with the huge lag and power, 2530's do have some lag but i was getting 1 bar of boost by 3000 revs on my skyline so i would guess a 300zx could get 1.2 ish bar by 3000 revs which makes then very good indeed and good for 550-600rwhp!! and as i said the main word in turbos is "proven" how many T28's are out there and what power have they produced?????????? only set i can think of is chrisc's and his turbos have just been rebuilt after not very long All IMHO Mike
  11. be careful of cleaning the fins, the alloy end tanks can be polished up no probs. If you look at the hks website it has a very good picture of it fitted and will give you a good idea of what goes where if you get stuck give me a shout Mike
  12. hks 2530's without a doubt, proven, reliable, produce decent power with not too much lag and will work with the other mods your looking at. also you will need some sort of ECU Mike
  13. didnt check the exhaust but they did remove the throttle pipes to see what pressure was coming from the turbos and it was fine but i will get the wife to dip the throttle and i will feel the exhaust unless theres a more scientific way?? Mike

Well took my car to RB Motorsports who specialise in skylines are are regarded as one of the best tuners of them on this country so after bribing them to book me in with my zed i have spent several hours trying to sort my problems out. Bad news first, still not boosting properly on the boost controller or wastegate springs!! Good news, checked everything and apart from a sticky BOV everything is fine, they checked both wastegates, turbos, pipework, plumbing etc etc So you may be asking yourself why is it not still boosting right?? well simply its not getting enough air into the turbos to produce enough boost, we have her progressively making boost upto about 0.8 bar now but the boost then falls off slowly so she is faster but not much faster!?!? but at least we found the problem with her and know now what to do :) So roll on 850cc injectors and 1.5 bar :dance: Mike

  19. tbh mate for the price zen are doing uprated turbos fitted it would be worth seeing how much they would do the extra work while the engines out?? worth a call another cheap way is getting some oem ones rebuilt for a few hundred quid?? i have a set you can have for peanuts if you want to go that route which is going to be your cheapest??   20. sorry bud ;) looking at them tubs mate there no chance of them reaching that type of power. the main question i would be asking is who has uprated turbos and how do you rate them and more important speak to the likes of zen etc and find out which are most reliable!! or if money is not really the object then stick with the likes if HKS or Greddy as there very proven and reliable :) HTH Mike

Just been reading this and laughing my d1ck off Trust me mark ive owned a 700bhp supra, 550bhp skyline and my 300 should once finished have 600ish and if its done the right way a v6 or straight 6 are as reliable as any car, you may have had a crap build but dont label all builds and turbos the same as yours!!

  24. i think youve got that wrong bud the left turbo feeds the left side mount and so forth and its balanced on the plenum with the balance bar funny enough ;)
