GPS Speed? How accurate?!
Increased rolling radius of the driven wheels will cause the car to travel further for every wheel revoloution - resulting in the speedo under-reading the vehicle road speed. .

So, according to that - if I fit a 'performance' exhaust, 'carlos fandango' induction kit & a re-map - that'll be good for another 100bhp .......................... :shock:

New garage advice!
If the other guy's paying, I'd opt for a propper brick built garage. It'll look the business & bricks could be selected to match those of the house. This may also increase the overall value of the property.

Engine flush or Not
When flushing oil is used on old engines, there is an increased possibility of loosening carbon deposits (old burnt oil) inside the engine. These carbon deposits may then block some of the oilways. The rule of thumb is either to use flushing oil every couple of years through the car's life - or don't use it at all. I would not use flushing oil in a 10 year old engine, regardless of mileage - unless previous owners had also used it. .

bad brakes
Would I be right in thinking that the R33 GTR front discs & calipers bolt straight on - with no modifications at all ? .

Bumper protection/reinforcement....
Personally, I would photograph the offending pothole/speedbump & send this photo along with an invoice for any related vehicle repairs to the local council. They are responsible for the upkeep/condition of the local roads & therefore should be liable for any damaged caused.

cambelt - mileage or time?
With an industry recognised, average mileage of 12k per year - service interval would be 60k or 5 years (whichever is soonest). In reallity, I would not wait any longer than 7 or 8 years between cambelt changes - however low the mileage travelled.

Indeed, I had a company fuel card at the time - quite an advantage as my average mpg in the 300zx was quite low...... :D Thanks for the welcome everybody ...... :hyper:

Well, I finally got around to joining. :nana2: I've been looking for a suitable 'Z' for a few weeks now & hopefully will be buying fairly soon. Although I had a 300ZX as a company car for a couple of months back in 1996, this will be the first Japanese car that I have actually owned. I started looking for a 300ZX around 5 years ago & ended up buying a Corrado G60 instead............ I have since got bored with that & sold it. I began my working career as a mechanic & I'm now employed as a Product Manager for a national car parts distribution company. I now live in Birmingham & hopefully will be attending some Midlands meets soon.

Be sure to record all trips to doctor, etc - you'll be able to claim £££££ compensation from the other person's insurance co.

using petrol again
O2 sensors can be checked with a multimeter. When at full operating temperature, the signal wire should carry between 0.9 & 1.0 volts (fluctuating). Any less than 0.85 volts when hot = knackered sensor.

Stop Buying Petrol!!!
Cheaper fuel would just add to the already ridiculous amount of traffic on our roads. I would quite happily pay twice as much for fuel if it meant that only half as many cars were using the roads.
