The 1.0 Litre Vauxhall Corsa's are insurance group 1 and they do 55mpg. I think there are some auto versions knocking about. Also the 1.0 Corsa is a petrol which is now a good thing. The price gap between petrol and diesel is ridiculous and getting worse, so any diesel car now has to do an aweful lot more MPG to justify it.

Welcome bud :) One thing i always say is, if you HAVE to buy a UK zed check for rust very Very carefully. If you want a Jap car try to get one that has'nt been in this country long, that way there is no danger of rust. ;) :)
