  1. Hi Guys, When I was at college studying cars my lecturers  favourite thing to point out was that "the power of an engine is determined by how much air you can get in and out in a predetermined time". Therefore you have to presume that 2 is better than one as you have more capacity to get the air out. Hence why performance exhaust are usually a larger bore than standard ones. That said you do need a certain amount of back pressure but for me 2 is the way to go to get more power. Hope this makes sense. Zedhot
  2. Morning all if you are just looking to build the base unit then £300 should get most of the bits you need. As your not really into gaming you don't need a great graphics card and you can always upgrade that at a later date if you ever wanted to as long as you get a decent motherboard. http://www.overclockers.co.uk are great for build hi end systems for playing games but probabely over the top for what you are after. http://www.komputerkrazy.com are good. one of the cheapest i've used is http://www.ebuyer.com go for an AMD64 if you can IMO. If you have a dvd writer then use your existing one and get a newer one at a later date.(they are only £40ish now anyway) One last thing is try to go for branded memory as I have found that generic is usually not as stable. Si
  3. Thanks guys, I've not had any quotes yet but i'm sure it won't be cheap. the other thing about repairing the car is that there are other things that need doing to make the car look as good as a Zed really should. For example the spoiler is an original and is wet inside so need replacing and the rear lights are cracking around the edges. I also need another boost controller as I sold mine to a forum member after I took the Zed of the road. once I add all this to the repair costs for the damage it starts to add right up. I have seen a lot of nice cars owned by guys on the forum for sale recently for around £4500 and I'm thinking I should just give this one up as a bad job and buy one from someone of the forum who is selling theirs. How much should I be looking to get for the engine and turbo's and how much for a SE fast road rebuild auto box that has hardly been used?? Cheerz guys Si
  4. Hi Guys, Had an accident in the Zed about 18months ago due to a fox and a slippery road!!! :headvswal The dilema now is do I try to fix her up or break it up and use my money to buy a new one. The car spec is as follows: 1990 Uk TT SE Nissan fast road rebuild auto box that has only covered about 2000 miles and an uprated oil cooler. Hybrid turbo's fitted just after the rebuild box. Performance air filter Performance exhaust including decat pipes. JWT Chip Standard bodywork and wheels. The damage is all on the OS but includes the front bumper, front wing, door and quite a bad dent in the rear quarter. Other things that could do with doing are the sills. My main concern is how much it will cost for the rear quarter as I don't want to spend loads of money having it sorted when I could have bought another Zed for the same money. Mechanically the car is sound but it's just the bodywork :smash: that is a concern. It still runs and drives fine. Has anyone had the rear quarter replaced and if so how much did it cost??? Cheerz Si :duffer:
  5. Hi I went Sidari twice last year and really enjoyed it. You find that people who go there once often go back again. The only real problem you find is the people trying to sell you flowers on the street especially if you are a couple. A woman will try to give you a flower and when you pay for it their kid will watch where you keep your money and then they will try to pick pocket you. just say no to the flower ladies and don't take one when they keep offering. Oh yeah and don't get a black henna tattoo done (they do them on the main street) as most people have a reaction to the chemicals they use and it burns your skin like this: http://reverndbunny.sphosting.com/ppdburns.html Have a great time mate and be sure to go in the bar next to the supermarket. it's run by a scotish lady and it's really friendly. Your a lucky man Zedhot
  6. sorry bout that mate. hope it gets sorted quickly

  8. The white one with headlight panel could be me. it's this one http://www.zcentre.co.uk/hlpanels/zc001b.htm from the Zed centre with blue lights in each vent.
  9. Does your pc recognise the drive as a cdrw drice or just a cd drive?? Si
  10. Could be the fuel pump. Can you hear it with just the ignition on or do you have to have it running to hear it? Si

  14. Hi, I've got a Magicar alarm http://www.magicar.com from http://www.evolutionelectronics.com It's really cool with loads of features. Whichever you go for get one with auto start as it is really funny watching people stop and stare as the car starts when no-one is in it. Zedhot
  15. the misfire was apparent throught the whole rev range.
  16. i'm in eyres monsell. I had a mis fire not too long ago and it turned out to be the connections on the PTU. I just took it off and gave the connections a clean. i forgot to put my JWT chip in my list Where abouts are you? Si
  17. Mine is a 1990 uk TT auto in White. I have a fast road rebuild gearbox from SE nissan with oil cooler upgrade, hybrid turbo's, a blitz SBC id boost controller and Power ID meter, performance exhaust and decat, blitz induction kit, clear side indicators and a vented (vents light up blue) headlight panel. The car is currently off the road in my garage as the water pump has siezed. have got it stripped down have just got to wait for my new pump to arrive along with a new timing belt. I have some pics of it put cannot post them as i have not subscribed yet. What about your's?? Si
  18. I saw a nice red one on thursday night near the city centre with venom rear lights and have recently seen a yellow one a couple of times near south wigston with a big spoiler. Si
  19. I'm none of the above but i am in leicester.
  20. Hi Olly, You may struggle to get that sort of boost with stock i/c's and injectors. i run a similar setup and get detonation about 14psi.(at high rev range) you need to be very carefull as you don't wanna blow the engine. stock injectors will only give enough fuel for max of 15.5psi boost. Ask yourself if it's worth the risk with stock gear?? IMHO it's not. Zedhot
  21. I have at last had someone brave enough or maybe stupid enough to try to outrun the zed. He was in a nice new sl500 merc. god knows what power he got but certainly pulled well. i left him at an island and thebn hit traffic where he caught me up. hit another island and decided to let him past. off hewent so i pulled into the outside lane(dual carriageway) behind him and started my chase. he pulled away from me initially then i started to pull it back. he must have then hit his 155 limiter so i went past him. he looked pretty upset when a 13 year old car went past his (i presume) very expensive merc. that teach him!!!! zedhot
  22. you are superstars!!! cleaned connections and now no missing. runs sweet as a nut cheerz guys
  23. there are pipes coming off the stock boost solenoids that now go to nothing as i have bypassed them with new pipe. i do not know if i need to block the pipes coming off the stock solenoids (i can't see that this would make a difference though as the stock solenoids are no longer wired up).
  24. Just done ECU diag as i have a misfire on centre cylinder of left bank and i get code 21. what should i do next??? cheerz zedhot:cry:
  25. I am definitely trying it in manual not auto and have plumbed in as per instructions . I have have a pipe from each actuator looped with a t piece off going to the out connection on the blitz controller and another pipe from the air intakes near the radiator looped with a t piece off to the in on the blitz solenoid. i have disconnected the wires for the stock solenoids and all the pipes. do the pipes from the stock solenoids need to be capped off or do can they be left without capping them??????
