110% spot on supra was a bast*rd at pod - span all the way down - and it was dry the answer my friend is blowing in the wind - and u r in his mirror the answer is Skyline R33 GTR or Skyline R34 GTR the intelligent 4WD computer which controls power to all 4 wheels INDEPENDENTLY and has as much processing power as a space shuttles avereage processor

In 2,3 or 4th a zed would leave a tubby in its mirror - zed is heavy but once it is launched the torque would take over and wipe out any tubby.

Chris before the cherry red zed I had a 6 speed TT Supra which I did the 1/4 mile in. Supra did it in 13.8. Now the Supra and the Zed feel the same and were both knocking on 350 bhp so I reckon a safe guesstimate would be high 13s for your Zed. The only way to get significant more power before replacing turbos would be down the ecu route, could get you 40 bhp - then theres potential fuelling and mapping problems if you do that
  5. no smoke at any time - car is solid tons of work recently done
  6. when u hammered it smoke would come from the engine once you stopped. Only for 2-3 mins. PCVs stopped this but also found I needed PCV pipes as there is a valve in the pipe
  7. Ive been given 90 days notice so am toying with the idea of selling the Zed. But only for £7k. Ive just had a new racing clutch, PCVs, PCV Pipes, New Belts, Red line oil, Crank Case seal, Tyres fitted - so am not too sure about wot to do. Carl I do want your intercoolers but already pmd you and said I got other immediate priorities. Point is I dont want to be spending my redundancy money on Optimax :mac1: or mabye I should............. :D

  13. thats a good quote - I am over 40, 70% NCB and pay £650 with declared mods of exhaust and intake
  14. they seem very well informed and knowledgable
  15. Guess I will have to try harder then - I will buy some Dr Martins tomorrow :D :D
  16. Picked up my first Z this Sunday. A 91 auto TT in pearl ruby red. I am still getting used to the power - if you get the auto box at the right time and kick down at the right speed and revs, its awesome. Trouble is with my new toy is that I keep doing it. I just filled up with petrol before coming home, had dinner, shower etc... then a voice in my head called me and said "Drive me again" I jumped into the Z and went up and down the A14. I have done just 45 miles and used a quarter tank, OUCH:( :( :( :( Is this normal:confused: Will I have to hide the keys from myself when I get home ??????
  17. Yes, Sold my Tubby (MR2 Turbo) as I needed more seats for my kids which I see once a month. My criteria was a car that has a targa, under £6000, with +200BHP and nothing else touches a Z. Very pleased with it - its faster than the Tubby, even in auto and so SMOOOOTH, with those 6 cylinders. Would love to drive a manual TT - surely a 5 speed box has very long gears. Even a Calibra Turbo has 6 speeds as does a new shape Supra - but the Z is dead sexy to look at, is pretty darn quick in auto mode so I settled for an auto. I have heard the the manual box in a TT does get eaten up pretty quickly (as in a Mitsubishi GTO)
  18. Driving?????????????? Press a button here, little bulb lights up on the dashboard floor the pedal and WOOOOOOSH - Warp factor :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
  19. Got my nw Z TT today. Its my first auto. What does the power switch actually do?? I think it holds the gears in longer but I am not too sure whether it makes any difference. Why does the car seem to go faster when overdrive is off? Even at low gears. I always thought overdrive was like a 6th gear for cruising. A word about manual boxes. I floored it with O/Drive off, power switch on on a slightly damp straight road and in second the car could hardly stay on the road - so if you want to live longer drive an auto. Fu*k knows what a manual TT would be like - how do you manual TT boys keep them on the road? Whats the point of all that power with no control?
  20. Thanks for the advice guys. Yes I will be more carefull and try to haggle a guarantee. Mustnt get too carried away with the cars good looks though If he cant fix the rumble I will probably have to consider leaving it Will find out on Saturday
  21. Sold my MR2 turbo and pick up my new Z on Sunday. Yipee Z is from a dealer and has 2 faults: gurgling noise from front wing behind dash on idle and slight rumble noise from rear drive shaft area at 4000rpm (noise only lasts a couple of seconds) Dealer says he will try to fix but cant be sure whether the faults can be located. Other than that the car is beautifull: Cherry Red, 5 spoke split rim alloys, tinted glass, full leather just in from Japan with 40000 miles If he cant fix the faults should I go ahead - the car drives really well - seems a lot faster than the MR2 Turbo Also the A/t light on dash doesnt work Car is 1991 H reg at £4500:rolleyes:
