  1. nope, it runs a phoenix power ecu. will it still work?
  2. mmmmmmmm, mine has a boost controller. its not slow. it will light the 255s in the dry, in second.
  3. i've had an r5 turbo,rs turbo,2 quattro turbos,2 mr2 turbos,200sx turbo, gto turbo, but nothing has drunk fuel like this one. and thats not really my point. both my mr2 and my 200 were as quick up to a ton and i thrashed the nuts off of the mr2 daily for 2 years and it was 17 years old. and all it ever needed was a clutch! i need a car thats quick but bullet proof and much as i love my z, it just doesn't tick the boxes.
  4. i think you've hit the nail on the head mate, i want a car i can drive daily that still puts a smile on my face. i can't afford to have it sitting in the drive looking nice to take out on a sunday
  5. i do alot of short journeys and although i try and warm the car first it takes ages for the stat to open on these big engines, plus it runs a jap ecu and more boost, plus i've got a heavy foot! can't have everything i suppose
  6. i thought about mabye getting a diesel van as well but i'm skint
  7. i live 5 miles from where i work and if i take it out at weekends as well i can easily do £75 in a week
  8. i think power to weight is the key, i've had mr2 turbos and 200sx's that are as or nearly as quick as the z, but they are not to bad on fuel if your on a run or driving sensibly. but the z just DRINKS fuel no matter how you drive it. if money was no object i would keep it, but its hard to enjoy a car when you've got one eye on the fuel guage and are perminately worried about "what if it goes wrong" i am GUTTED though, i've always wanted one :(
  9. i've got to sell my z, i didn't realize how much worse on fuel it was going to be than my other jap turbo cars, i've only had her about 3 months and i'm gutted to be selling but the sad fact is i can't afford to run it let alone fix it if it went wrong. i love the noise and have considered an na swb but after the turbo i think it will just be a dissapointment. :(
  10. i turned my boost up to 1 bar, car was an animal in this cold weather and i was loving it right up until the clutch threw in the towel! bugger
  11. i just asked for an honest opinion on the value of my car and the thread was removed! i wasn't trying to sell it and was just after advice as the value of zeds seems to differ so much.thanks for nothing whoever removed it.
  12. the bloke i bought my swb off claimed it had 500bhp cos it had a garage spl ecu............it also has standard turbos, standard intercoolers and not a great deal else! full of sh*t. i still bought it though :D
  13. a long block will not include anything apart from bottom end and heads bolted to block, i hope you still have your original engine so you can swap all the bits over.
  14. really? not even a swb, i've had 2 s13s,3mr2's 2 of which were tubbys,a 3door cossie and numerous bm badged rwd sheds and i reckon my z is well up there for predictable, controlable slides.........mind you i've never won anything in d1, or for that matter even entered an event of any description. so i'l shut up :x:
  15. short block is just crank and pistons assembled, long block is cylinderheads as well
