Another rust related mot failure :crying:
I don't think I could convince him to drive to Bristol and weld my car for me, but I'll definitely be chasing him for advice  While I'm at it, where can I buy a replacement steering rack gaitor/boot? I've been searching around and can't find one anywhere. I did read somewhere that z32/z33/s14 ones are the same, is anyone able to verify that?

Another rust related mot failure :crying:
No problem! They are some lovely looking wheels  After much begging, I've convinced my brother in law to relinquish his mig welder so I can have a bash at it myself. His mini will have to wait until I'm done

Another rust related mot failure :crying:
This is what mine looks like at the moment. It's only the drivers side that's actually bubbled through the paint, I'm sure the passenger side is no better, so will obviously try to get them both repaired.

Another rust related mot failure :crying:
Thanks for the responses guys, you've certainly put my mind at ease a bit. Redwine300, your link to the mig welding forum is a good read, it'll be a big help to have something to reference if I do decide to tackle it myself :thumbup1: I have contacted jimmer about his new body shop, but he didn't seem to happy with them and couldn't recommend an alternative, I'll just have to ring around and see what the prices are. Trouble is, my mot runs out mid Feb, my tax is due in the next week, and I'm supposed to be moving house in the next month! It couldn't be worse timing really :crying:

Another rust related mot failure :crying:
Well, it's my own fault for not addressing it when I first noticed the paint bubbles :crying: the great killer of 300zx's everywhere has taken hold of my rear sills and subsequently caused her to fail the mot. I've found a local garage that will repair the sills, if I supply the panels, for £300, but thats on the condition they don't find the rot has gone too far. Does that sound about right price wise? On the other hand I could get myself a mig welder and have a bash at it myself, although I'm scared I'll bugger it up and be left in a worse position than I started in. I really don't want to have to resort to breaking the car for parts, she's only an n/a auto, but I'd still prefer to save her from the scrap man if possible! I'd appreciate any advise people might have, and any suggestions on alternative body shops around bristol!

Wrong spark plugs, but it works?
Hey jimmer! It's Chris from down in hotwells, you did a timing belt change on my red NA auto back in the summer, and recommended lots of places to get good cider  pleased to say it's still going strong, but I'll need to get an mot next month, any recommendations round here?

Wrong spark plugs, but it works?
Hey everyone, I thought I'd treat the car too some new sparkplugs, since I've never changed them during my ownership. I got some Ngk pfr6b-11 laser platinums, as recommended by many a forum search. So today I set about changing them, and the ones that came out were ngk bkr6ek. After a quick search these seem to be for a Toyota mr2! Now I've owned this 300zx for almost a year now, and it's never once missed a beat, it's an NA, so I'm guessing if it was a TT I'd have had a lot more problems but still, pretty shocked it worked, the plugs don't even look similar!

Drivers side wheel arch liner
Hi everyone, I'm in desperate need of a drivers side wheel arch liner. Some clever sod decided to cut off the bit that extends under the front bumper meaning what's left just flaps about when driving now, so the wheel is slowly chewing it away. If anyone is able to help it would be much appreciated

Silver 99 spec bristol
Spotted a silver Z32 with a 99spec front bumper while I was strolling to the pub, very close to where I live! Somewhat shocked there's a other one so close, is it anyone from here?

Where can I buy Brake shims?
I recently picked up some new pads for the car, but I'm missing the anti squeal shims, and the new pads didn't come with any. Does anyone know if I can buy some separately? I tried z center, but they aren't listed any more :helpsmilie:

Rear 300zx panel (between lights)
Looking for a rear panel, with the 300zx logo and reverse lights it, if anyone has one spare I'd be eternally grateful!

Small plastic windscreen trim
Does anyone have the small plastic trim piece that sits above the battery going spare? I think it's called a scuttle panel, or windscreen trim. There's two in total and I'm missing the smaller one. Cheers Chris

newbie question about local garages?
Hey everyone! Im new here, obviously, and im thinking of getting my self a 300zx:) I have always love the looks of them, yet i always seem to end up buying something else when i change cars! I started my japanese sports car ownership with a honda crx, then moved to a supra, and now im the proud owner of a gto. all of them are great cars but i think its time to get the 300 i always wanted:) So i was wondering if you could advise me on garages? i live in the cambridge area and one thing i have found annoying about the gto in particular is the closest trustworthy garage that knows anything about them is in potters bar london! Are there any 300 owners around my way that have a good garage near by? Many thanks for the help Chris
