  1. Okay Dropped car in for alignment check today and a couple of small problems were found in the form of.....well punctures I guess in the inner walls of the NSF and OSR tyres. Guy said that it looked as if the front one had been there for a while but must have worsened with the car being used more (havn't used it in over 14 months). The rear one was quite quite new but was far worse. Alignment had been knocked out of kilter as well, despite it being A1 for the MOT. So, all that taken care of and so far (shhh) things seem okay. Thanks for all your help. By the way, can anyone recommend geting all bushes replaced with the urethane variety? Thanks again
  2. 1990 J/spec. Replacement rear dampers. F/OS and R/NS corners replaced from donor cars. 17" rims. 235/45 on front and 265/40 on rear. Why is this car not handling? My Mitsi Shogun Sport handles better than my Zed! :headvswal Have been having handling probs for YEARS. JeffTT spotted damage to F/OS and R/NS steering assembly probably caused by curb hit damage after a spin. He replaced these corners from a donor car and driving it back was a dream. A couple of weeks later and I'm kinda back where I started. Slowly, the handling has worsened. I am now getting 4 wheel drift on right hand bends and on left hand bends the car starts to lean into the corner, then stops leaning and the rear end begins to slide. Yet a fortnight back driving home from Tamworth the car was handling like a dream. I have done nothing to the car save maintain tyre pressures. Now I'm back in the state where I don't want to drive it above 45mph. Not good with 360+ rwbhp. Can anyone suggest something..please? Or is someone localish to me who can give it a spin and come up with ideas? I am almost at breaking point. :headvswal
  3. Zeds been off the road and not started for about 15 months. Started her up today and....STARTED FIRST TIME. After that long sitting under covers in the garage! Amazing. Sounds as sweet as a sweet thingy so I guess I'd better get her MOT'd, taxed and back where she belongs! :hyper: Just wanted to say hi again
  4. Just wondering Amongst a bunch of unashamed fossil burners, how do we feel about nuclear? The government still (kinda) offers 50% subsidy for homes wishing to switch to solar but how will this serve industry? This sector has GIGANTIC needs which simply cannot be met by sustainable resources at present. So how do we feel? My vote is for nuclear with a budget including off planet disposal of high level waste. Am I a dreamer? is it :hyper: or is it :mac1:
  5. Thanks for the advice..... If I can save £1,000 a year...hmm...maybe I'm looking at a fast road auto box to help keep the cravings at bay.
  6. So, anyone here apart from me quit recently? My grandfather died on by birthday (bummer) and I promised him the day before he died that I would quit. So I have. I ain't using patches or things but it has only been a week or so. Can anyone tell me what I have to look forward to ? One of my staff told me that you cough like buggery...then laughed. Guess I'm not too popular. Is it really that bad mid term? Just that I don't feel a huge loss so far  Help?
  7. Might have been..... Spotted another (you?) on the roundabout by the Barley yesterday. Can't wait to get my old thunder back on the road again...... You hail from Sambrook by the way?
  8. Silver Zed overtook my Shogun on the A41 going into Newport about a week ago. Made a bit of a noise in town afterwards......anyone?
  9. Well FVCK me with a tin can  If I ain't been driving around this dump in my grey TT import for three years and I ain't seen none of you guys.....more's to the point, you ain't seen me! There is a silver Zed In Tibberton Just down the road from me mind you...anyone here? We should have a Telford & Wrekin Zed meet Hows about it?
  10. Mine bought my Zed for me. What can I say? She just loves the smell of burning rubber (ahem!)
  11. Getting to be pretty much that way myself. Sure, I've had my probs with this BBS but right now I'm thinking........does it really matter? Nothing can be ALL good, not even a lottery win but one thing is for sure: you do not have a choice whether to pay taxes or not. You do have a choice whether to subscribe to this place or not. If you don't like it then don't subscribe. Paying £20 just to come on here and get stressed sounds like too much hard work, you know? You can't agree with everybody but if you get what you are after from the place then what's the problem? Or am I just mellowing too much now I'm over 30?
  12. Everyone has reason to gripe for one reason or another at one person (or organisation) or another. We come home after a day of not being able to complain about all the things that wind us up, then come to this BBS (or any other) and realise that all the same rules still apply here! Annoying or what? I ain't been round here for a while but reading back over a few notorious recent threads, especially those in the private forums I still get the impresion that some folk are getting a bit too involved in BBS politics and forgetting the real reason we are all members here. Moderation stinks, but then again so does any form of social control. Think about it: Last year I paid a total of @ £23,400 in income tax, not counting NICO or local tax and I can come here and enjoy a far greater amount of freedom than in the "real" world for only 20 quid! Bargain or what? And since I have undoubtedly saved thousands as a result of the advice from this BBS, including the time my local dealer was trying to charge me > £3,000 for a head gasket change I didn't need, its even more of a bargain! Just a brief realisation after a few :duffer: but with all the recent hiatus I've been reading, thought I'd put my few quids worth in. Take care all

  14. Spot on. I really hate the idea of being gagged in expressing opinions but in this case I`d easily make an exception. One guy's ego = how many lives? :slap:
