  1. And Now Its Up For Sale???? What Am I Missing
  2. id been looking at a smart car :x: they return 50+mpg but they are tiny and at 6'5" it might be tricky.. i have bitten the bullet and put it on ebay. my uncle had a vr6 and he reckoned he got about 23 urban and around 29 motorway. not much better but an improvement. To be honest i dont think i earn enough to fully appreciate a zed. im always looking at everyone elses cars on here and wishing mine was as good or as quick etc... Then i have to budget for an engine rebuild at some point plus general maintenance. And its always in the back of my mind "what if something goes wrong" VW's are pretty bullet proof and tend to do 160k miles if well maintained. Im definately going to get a zed as a weekend car sometime in the future when the funds are looking better. The car puts a smile on my face like no other car has. Ive owned 3 mr2;s one turbo 255bhp and a 250bhp audi tt. Nothing goes like the zed..
  3. seen a supercharged vr6 golf - 270bhp...
  4. so the 30mpg a vr6 can do isnt entirely true......
  5. should i sell and get a golf vr6?? or am i being stupid dont think i can justify spending £65 a week on fuel alone and the longer i own it the more chance i have of incurring a big bill. I was only doing 8 miles a day to work and back but now im up to around 60 and cant afford to drive the z as a daily drive. Would i hate a vr6?? Anyone ever owned one, or anyone think of a similar car i could go for?? cheers
  6. as above. the amp just needs a power supply to turn it on, but i was under the impression that all the speakers in a zed required the amp to work, but i could be wrong. I found it easier in mine to just bypass the amplifier as most headunits today are better than the crap amp in a zed. much easier and around a 2 hour job. plus bin the amp in the boot as its just extra wheight.
  7. in the late 80's a right hand drive F40 would have cost you over £500,000. And that was 20 years ago.... Not bad depreciation really
  8. and everyone knows how reliable alfas are. stick to the zed it will probably go wrong less
  9. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Exactly what i thought when i heard it. A friend works for the DVLA and according to him if it does come into play then it will affect all gas guzzlers and not only newer ones. But this is only what he had been told, and its not 100% But like said already, if it doesnt come into play we will just get taxed more on something else, but consider ourselves lucky that the tax didnt go up to £410.... Me thinks its time for me and Mrs Zed to leave for the costa del sol!!
  10. might help, might not http://zhome.com/ZCMnL/PICS/evcIVprogramming/evcIVprogramming.html
