  1. Cool, your 100% on that now for a 205 are you before I connect them the wrong way round and blow something up lol I didn't think the negative would run to the alternator and starter but had to check Fingers crossed lol
  2. I have a question regarding a Poogeot 205 CTI 1.6 I have just acquired which lets just say someone has been playing with quite a bit!! Anyway trying to put the wiring back together to see what kind of condition the engine is in and I got a little confused. Now can anyone tell me where the Positive and negative leads are suppose to connect too on a 205? In the Haynes it appears it is actually the negative lead that connects to the starter and the alternator. But that doesn't make sense to me and if that is correct where would the positive lead connect too? The car is a 1988 model btw Any help would be greatly appreciated because the guys on the poogeot forum don't seem to have a clue
  3. Cheers Groover Tooko it apart again and checked every whole last night. Seems that 3 of the LEDS have blown, 1 was in the wrong way round!! Can't believe it's blown 3 LED's, any ideas what may have caused that, just have to find soem new ones now oh and sort out those pesky platic dwarfs with axes that are running round the garden breaking bulbs!! damn them!!
  4. well it's not the fuse, had a play last night and got one bulb working, if one is not inserted right though will the stop others working?? At the moment only the one by the temp guage works!! Think I will have to try new bulbs tonight Thanks for the help!
  5. Its the LED's behind the speedo and Rev counter etc Have taken them out and turned then round but still nothing :-( Is there a fuse I could have blown, can't see that one has gone looking at the fuse panel though
  6. They are indeed standard guages but with LED bulbs
  7. Two of the bulbs for the guages kept flickering so I took the pod out and cleaned them today. Put it all back together though and now it the lights don't work?? Is there a fuse that I coul have blown and if so does anything else run off it so I can see if it is the fuse?? Cheers
  8. Cheers matey, glad to hear your wife got through it well, lot of people don't seem to be so lucky!! On the reliability side of things tho I wouldn't try to take my zed to croatia lol!!
  9. not a good start!! anyone know why an Astra might not want to go into reverse! We're leaving tomorrow
  10. Come on peeps!! it's for a cracking cause!! :hyper:
  11. Fellow Zedders As of Thursday the wife and I will be taking our freshly painted £100 Astra and attempting to get from Wales to Croatia in 4 days!! So you guessed it this message is to try and raise loads of money!! it's all for a good cause and I don't get a penny…. Honest! If everyone donates just a couple of quid then that's gonna add up to a lot of help for a lot of people! I have attached a pic of the car for all too see and the lamp even works!! Some of you may think it's my new daily drive but No, you would be wrong lol….. To say I'm a little nervous about taking it around 1800 miles is an understatement seeing as the car has broken down 4 times in the last month, not the greatest reliability record :-) but we're going to give it a go…. Might just be hitching some of the way is all!! There's a blog running if your interested in following further at http://encephalitis-ramshackle.blogspot.com/ Encephalitis is a little known illness but still affects many people one of which happened to be my Mum about 2 years ago and as of yet she has not fully recovered, that’s how much help sufferers need! Encephalitis is an inflammation of the brain. The inflammation is caused either by an infection invading the brain (infectious); or through the immune system attacking the brain in error (post-infectious / autoimmune encephalitis). It's a very worthwhile cause that gets very little support so every penny helps and every penny raised will go to the charity. To give to the charity online the site to visit is http://www.justgiving.com/christopherjohnson2 Thanks in advance Chris (with the pearly whitey) and Mel (The crazy wife who agreed to these antics!)
