had my mot today failed on wrong colour side light bulbs and my rear lights tinted to black flew through emissions gave him letter from vosa idle test only i have to be happy with that cheap fix.

i ment rather than it costing me 600 + clutch, if garage said shall we change it whislt doing clutch,as all off would have saved 296

having changed oil today noticed on the downpipes either side two pipes one on each going back to engine when i had one of the downpipes replaced by longlife ss they have disconnected it and welded it shut good or bad as the other will need doing in afew months??????

to tell the truth i cant remember been that long but once you put your foot on brake it stalls and arms itself.

ive got engine remote start have to admit never used it got cracking alarm immob setup clifford avant guard 4 afew years old now but insurance company would not insure me because of enginr remote start so had to have another viper system fitted with the clifford.

cost me £296 total have to admit was gutted as had clutch done the year before and to be honest the garage should advise changing it then would have saved bucks that way.

turbocraigy niceone for that info i was pulling my hair out ,set timing at 25 deg btdc and runs like a monster aint run like that since i had it afew years ago thanks alot you to jeff life savers.

like i said it wont run at 15deg btdc runs awful so il try that tomorrow thanks jeff

ok ive read about the neutral switch,i had belt changed cas was at maximum advance and pinking like hell under load,so even if switch gone or 44pin not earthed it should read 25 deg btdc on idle when warm,it was 40deg btdc so in theory if i set to 25deg btdc and runs shit its the belt thats been fitted wrong?

its manual but not sure if it used to have auto box im trying to get hold of previous owner,didnt even know had neutral switch where is it and how much are they?

set it halfway showing 20deg btdc now still misses alittle but no pinking haha i dont now maybe the bloke who done belt fitted it wrong

having had an email off jeff as what to do i set timing gun and it was 40deg btdc as i turned cas as it was fully advanced to bring it to 15deg btdc ,took it for a spin and misses and not much power the cas is almost fully retarded now.

will i need to take a vacuum pipe off when setting timing ?if so which one photos would help if so.

engine serial number stamped on rear of block drivers side if in car very hard to see though.

great the knobs fitted belt wrong and cas then its to far advanced.

was just wondering the cas unit is at full adjustment,shouldnt it be in the middle so can be adjusted the bolt i mean as the bolt all the way right if looking from front of car.

standard drive pulleys lightweight crank pulley,no same fuel as always,timing light prob best bet cheers guys.

1992 jap import na manual only happens under load,full ss exhaust decatted,induction kit,he said cas looked way out yet after changed looked in exactly same positon,could tell by bolt mark.

its like when i come to a hill say in 5th and put my foot down under load it starts when change down to 3rd and give it some beans it stops?

surely they would make a different sound wouldnt they?

had my timing belt changed was told by garage fitted wrong tooth out but having had belt changed pinking still there?
