  1. If i get my Zed Traction Control System will be the 1st thing to get. I would keep it on in severe wet conditions and snow (if i dare) but purly just as a learning curve. Better safe than sorry in normal driving conditions and yep turn it off when you really want to.
  2. Surely if you really take care in corners and go very slow round roundabouts everything will be ok (in wet) and there should be no hairy moments. I dont even drive in the snow in my FWD Lude which can be tail happy when it wants. I really dont want this to put me of me wanting an N/A (1st RWD car too).
  3. Wow sign of a healthy engine....thats some good specs. Made me feel better about getting one. :hyper:
  4. Just interested to know what BHP figures you have all got or lost and how its effected performance after all these years? Or what tuned BHP figures are you running?
  5. Just been reading this thread and im not surprised about accidents on Beacon Hill. I assume you are on about Beacon Hill in Loughborough and the amount of times iv been up there and have had alot of hairy moments. Blind corners and hilly crossroads everywhere.
  6. As all of you dont know, I STILL WAITING FOR MY MONEY FOR MY ZED but im currently studying Automotive Design at Coventry Uni which is most awesome...iv got access to rare book that has concept development of cars from the 60's up to present day. So since we all love the Zed i thought id go very much out my way to get all the info for you all....as far as im concerned they picked the best design out of all of them.....
  7. Have you tried Ultimate-velocity.co.uk...there based on Loughborough Road in Leicester...Check out their website....i will be using these...
  8. Yep even £1400 a year isnt too bad on fuel...im a student so lets say if i cut back on alchol and work all summer that should be ok...who cares you only live once and its not like iv got mortgaes are anything like that to worry bout at my age...
  9. Yer even though iv not driven or sat in a Zed i agree with you...its excellent value for money...i was shocked it was group 18 insurance...normally for a car of this performance its group 20 and the economy is actually really good considering....i really cannot wait...u can get the zed and save say the £15 grand difference between a zed and a new car and save it for Zed food and Mods...
  10. Iv just been working out a few things here... Prelude at the mo... 0.90p (average per litre) x 55 (litres i fill up) = £49.5 (Mostly its less but extremes here) 5000 (miles per yer) / 350 (miles per tank) = 14.28 (times per year i will fill her) £49.5 x 14.28 = £706.86 (money i spend on fuel a year) Now for the Zed TT 0.90p (if super unleaded) x 65 (litres expected) = £68.5 (per fill) 5000 (miles per yer) / 300 (miles per tank) = 16.7 (fills a year) £58.5 x 16.7 = 976.95 (money i estimate on fuel per year) That not much difference between a 2.0 Lude and a V6 TT...the TT milage per tank might be less for sure but im not aways going to be using boost and i do 70% motorway driving and 30% town which is usually country roads. Does everyone agree these figures sound good..I wont be doing less than say 3miles in the Zed since i got a Bike lazy gits...So i feel thats settled my main concern...it looks like my decision is made a Zed Twin Turbo..
  11. Well im hoping for a large amount of compensation...somewhere in the access of 20 grand but not sure yet....U used to drive my old civic hard but not stupid...then i had the crash which was someone elses fault (pulled out in front of me whilst i was doing 60) and since then iv taken things easy...iv taken my Lude to it limits like cornering and the acceleration it has but iv learnt to do it it areas i no and conditionas i no that i can handle and of course not causing or near other road users...my Lude is fun but iv got as much fun out of it as i can get....want a change... Im sure my insurance isnt a problem...i suppose the only issue i have is the mixed opinions iv read of ecomomy...one mag stated they did 20.2mpg x 18.7 = 377 miles which for a jap supercar is excellent and this figure is what conviced me to turn to the turbo...but reading this site states differently...obviously they did this not using boost.. Here that site for everyone interest..i liked it... But honestly i wouldnt mind the TT...
  12. Yer that was my other thing...130hp FFW Prelude to a 300hp RWD Zed...im not experienced so i will definately be taking so kind of safety course and and a skid control course...read on here IAM is a great course to take...but its definately a must...Iv drifted my Lude before and done it alot in large car parks sometimes 30mph drifts but thats in the wet and it difficult to drift FF cars but sure it easy to make mistakes in RWD cars.
  13. Iv posted before but im still waiting for my compensation to come through (takes boody ages)....anyway iv been reading all post on this forum and researching ever since November and its killing me more and more that i cant get my Zed yet...In my quest of knowledge i got a couple of insurance quote to help me as a 20yr old student with 1yr no claims and an accident 2 yrs ago...i wanted an N/A but cannot get a quote for it, the best i got was just over £3k...(all these where online though and not specialist like Sky) the TT on the other hand is only £1800 which i shocked cos thats very cheap considering my Prelude 2.0 is that price now.... But anyway it seems i will end up getting a TT since fuel is silmilar and the only real probs with TT is turbos at 60,000m which i will buy one with all major work done.... So it just leaves me with one question i cant really find the answer... How long does everyones wear and tare last? 1. How long does everyones tyres last...if its stock tyres or aftermarket alloys? 2. Brake Discs and Pad? How many miles? Estimate... 3. Any other usual wear and tare.... I want a Zed now..... Oh and has anyone had an accident and got compensation for their injuries...If not to personal question how much and for what injuries did you get? Scott
  14. Ok been looking around on this forum and...it appears i might stand a good chance with this car. Insurance wise i was expecting to pay around £1800...Does this sound right for a 20 yr old with 1Yr NCB??????? Also the twin turbo...it might scare me a bit...dont know if im ready for that..My car crash in June was very serious...broken knees, foot etc put total safety awarenes and paranoia on me... so might aim for the non turbo. Iv also read these bring 23-24mpg...my lude is 26mpg so little diference. Lets hope my compensation will be high for my accident!!!!!!!!
  15. Ok well i do spend alot on petrol even though im a student..Oh its not the newer preludes that interest me...Iv got a 4th gen one 1995 and is the best looking and everything else....
  16. Are N/A JDMs..i thought the non turbos where UKDM...Well anyhow am gonig to look around. The Prelude is obviuos choice for me at the moment since i own 1 and now exactly what to expect. Am going to look into the Z's though... Thanx for replys so far...help is appreciated...
  17. Ok hoping for a big compensation money in Feb time and also insurance is due for renewal and i want to buy a new car. Currently own a Honda Prelude 2.0i and am going to get the 2.2 VTEC but now my attention is drawn to the 300ZX. I definately wont be able to afford to insure the Twin turbo so looking at the N/A version. Looked on the net and there is thin info on it specs etc etc. So can anyone tell me Specs about it like 0-60, mpg, etc etc and also i will be 20 in feb and have my 1st NCB...Whats is like to insure? Running costs etc...or am i just dreaming and wot be able to afford it. Please help would really like to own this car. Thanx Scott
