Oh I'm with you now, I think. You are referring to clocks as instrument cluster? I thought you were talking about the clock on the stereo surround! I did take the cluster apart and check it out, the speedometer is also driven differently and can not be wound back, unlike the early models that were very simple. My 2000 Z has just over 160,000k's & was clearly used as a daily commutator. The B-pillar was bent out of shape on the drivers door and looks like someone tried to enter the vehicle. I have had all that kind of stuff, plus more repaired/fixed. The only plans left are to fit the '99 spec bumper (with lip), install built engine, gauges & Greedy boost controller. I'm looking at getting some 18" wheels for everyday use & keep the gold Advan wheels for the track. I also have Z1 BA SMIC's and 2.5" cooler piping to help the engine breathe. The engine has 88mm pistons and the heads have been extensively ported with larger valves and JWT 400+ cams. Also need the exhaust made up (3 inch), so plenty to do still. I'm hoping to make 400rwkw, but at the end of the day numbers aren't important to me. I just want it to be responsive and fun to drive. I didn't know that they have a lightened drive pulley standard, so that's a bonus! For anyone interested, I have a build thread @aus300zx.com HERE.

That's correct, for what ever reason with the late model they flipped the year/date. Sorry, what do you mean? There is a lot of differences with the late model Z I am sure I'm unaware of. I recently removed the fuse for the electric HICAS. Lot easier to bypass than the hydraulic system!

Oh yes, the Bomex type 4 wing was already installed also. Looks like it once had side skirts too (signs of glue/discolouration). I am slowly trying to restore it to factory condition with a 600hp engine. I've been a Z nut since the age of 10 or so & this would be the exact model of Z (white/slicktop/TT/5spd) I would order from factory given the chance. So very happy to have had to opportunity to buy such a rare example.

Apparently a older gentleman bought it new in Japan in 2000 & had it imported personally to Australia in 2004. I bought it from a friend who came across it in Western Australia sight unseen and had it shipped to me in Tasmania (other side of the country). At this point in time a lot had been changed from factory. It had the Stillen front bar/fascia, single exhaust, 320mm steering, fibreglass bonnet with vents, UAS SMIC's, & wheel & 17" ADVAN wheels. In the time I have owned it have have some panel work done and paintless dent removal done. Replaced exterior trim/weather molds. I have replaced broken interior bits, installed the Momo wheel pictured & give it a full clean/detail. I have also installed a full alloy rad, adjustable tension rods and rear camber arms, Tein Flex coilovers, Selin dual pop intake & Ganador mirrors. I also have a forged race spec VG with GT2860RS turbos I plan to drop into it soon :)

Big thread dig, but I bought a 2000 model slicktop end of last year. Any others with late model Z's that haven't surfaced also?- damp carpet on driver side floor
- Starting to look good
Love the front fascia. I had the same on my previous Z.- Picture request

Thanks all. I would have preferred the stock steering wheel, as well as the stock front bumper. But sadly both had been replaced prior to my purchase. This car is no where near as neat as my 2+2 was/is. But I am slowly but surely doing what I can to restore her to showroom condition (or close to). I don't plan to baby this car either. I bought it with the intention of doing track days which will upset some people. But cars are for driving and enjoying, not locking away and admiring (though I still admire it every time I look at it haha). Repaired B-pillar. Interior after replacing broken clips/switches etc. New molds installed & Ganador mirrors. Installed fog light ducts. Selin dual pop intake intalled. Sadly there wasn't enough room at my current residence to keep both the Z's, so the 2+2 was sold earlier this year. I also have a fully rebuilt engine to drop in. I'm hoping to make 550bhp. Currently lots of headaches/f*#kups slowing down the swap. So that is where I am currently at. I do need to get my ar$e in gear and get some decent pictures. -Jono- Bought myself another Z
Here are a few pics of what I've done thus far. A removed the seats and gave them a clean. Also retensioned the base of the drivers base fabric. Had to take this pic for all the people (American's) telling me 1996 was the last year. Removed the headlights (one had a small blemish) & took the opportunity to clean the area. Brand new Xenon headlights. Installed. - Oldest & newest z32 on here?
