  1. Lol! What?! CO2? 400N.m = 295 Ibs ft Most tuned Zeds will have 450-500 N.m of torque. Got it beat in this area but my experience with this new M3 has shown me you can't just base things on figures alone. Like I said though, the T28 boys & above have got it beat.
  2. Its a completely new unit in the M3 derived from the latest M5 5l V10 engine. The old M5 engine had much more torque (at least peak torque) than the M3 at 369 Ib ft. Haven't seen the curve's for the engines but i bet the area underneath the new one is pretty close. Edit...Wiki link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_S65
  3. I spent Saturday having fun with one of these at a trackday...I can safely say most Zeds would not stand a chance with one of the new V8 M3's. Despite a peak of 'only' 295Ibs/ft, they have a very wide powerband and the traction and grip through and out of bends is exceptional. My supra is a touch faster than both my Zed's were (both hybrid turbos at 14/15 psi) and the M3 was able to pull out a 2-3 car gap on me down the 1.2 mile runway probably due to better traction out of the bend. It also didn't seem to stop at an indicated 160mph (although with speedo inaccuracy it was probably right on 155). Mac's car of course will leave it for dead in a straight line but I reckon you would need at least 555's and 16+ psi to beat one. Round a track / twisty b road I would say there are even fewer that could keep it in sight. Motorway 40mph roll on would ensure maximum humiliation Mac:D
  4. Those two hoses often go on Zeds, has happened to many of us! You can get at them from the top of the engine if you are patient and have a small handed helper! 4 hours labour seems a bit much for something so trivial (although admittedly awkward).
  5. True :D Just prompting discussion :p Seriously though I must have had 2 crap Zeds then as the dashes rattled & creaked like an old pirate ship. I don't dislike the Zed inside just think the supra is great. Each to their own!
  6. I have to disagree here! Having owned both the mkiv interior is far superior to the Zed imo. Much more solidly put together than the cheapo Zed switch gear. Plus the dash was designed to focus everything towards the driver and works very well in this respect. My UK spec Zed was much better put together than my J-spec though I have to say, but probably as it was a few years younger. On the outside...well each to their own but I am happy with what I have. Old... [/img] New... [/img]
  7. http://www.travelbag.co.uk also good for flights & keeping you updated on any changes.
  8. There is on his Supra...put it in manual mode and D with overdrive off. It will stay in 3rd then no matter what. Not sure if the Zed auto has the same thing.
  9. How many miles has your car done Paul? For me that would be the deciding factor...if you're heading past 90k then it might be prudent to freshen the block up as well if you are going to increase the power by another 100bhp or so that 555's and larger tubs will potentially bring. Even more cash! Hate to say this but for me, R33 GTR's were so tempting that I decided to sell-up rather than upgrade the injectors on a highish mile car even though i still love the Zed. I then accidentally brought a supra :x:
  10. If the standard gauge is moving all the way over, its been running too much boost probably...check for boost jets in the vac lines (do a search here for boost jets). Could be why the tubs are kanckered (and maybe why it crashed :x: ) Thats the risk you take buying a cheap one! Sorry I am in a mood as nobody seems to want to buy my one and its great!)
  11. Shocking and tragic news, condolences to his family and to you Steve-O, I can't imagine how terrible this must be for all involved. Didn't know Jay but immediately recognised his user name as one of the longer standing members on here...horrible news. RIP.
  12. I have a JWT...its fine never had any det issues on T-25 hybrids at 15ish psi or the T-28's at 12-13 psi. They are a bit too safe by all accounts though you can get better response by some timing tweaks here and there with one of Andy or JD's chips.
  13. Have you looked for fault codes? Always the best place to start if you've ruled out the obvious like battery and starter motor. Fault code procedure
  14. Wow a competetion I can enter at the mo! 370bhp Zed 420bhp Supra 115bhp laguna although is knackered so probably has about 90bhp now! 880bhp not bad though :D
  15. Mark Did I see you fly the other way when I was coming up the A483 towards chester on early Sunday afternoon? It was p*ssing down and I was going the other way in the new beast! If it wasn't you, someones got a another tasty blue beast!
