Subarus
Hello all, since I gave up trying to find an affordable good-quality Z (missed at least 3 on here due to a holiday, d'oh) bought a 1997 Subaru legacy RS. I like it. just wondered if anyone else has owned/ come across them & what you all think? PS it's a twin-turbo big impreza with a half-decent interior for those who don't know what it is. and it's a saloon, not a fan of estates!!! PPS I hope to be selling it next year and buying another Z...but more time I spend with it, more I'm getting used to it & more tempting it is to blow savings on taking it from 280bhp to 400 etc etc!!! :D

Tommy Kaira
Right. Seen one advertised. BUT, how the heck do I tell if it's genuine or a mock-up short of taking it apart? (Garage would not be a fan). read an archive file on here which seemed to suggest a few points but also said specs could vary so gauges/interior/stickers were not always reliable! :wack: however, it has engine-bay plaque, badges and bodykit & exhaust looks correct, wheels aren't, but IMHO how many Z's have original (even special edition) wheels???

de-cat exhaust
Also worth remembering that if you have your car de-catted, watch what they do with the cats, most of them contain 3oz+ of platinum. Which at £1000 for 25 oz Platinum is not cheap. (£70ish for EACH cat minus recovery cost) and don't forget rhodium and palladium... Why do you think there's so many "recycling" companies springing up for mobiles/computers & cars...? Noticed any scrapyard owners driving round in bad cars recently....??? try to keep the cat and if the garage is reticent ask them how much they get for it...!!!

does anyone know....
Nails...? ;)

Zeds days could be numbered!!!
to me it looks like it needs a calibra turbo lump in it like one I saw in retro cars...!!!

Has anyone seen this WTF !!!!!"$"£%£$^$%&
Though obviously it's one of those nice "concept" motors, be fun to see what happens if they brought it to the british motor show... not that I condone vandalism but I'm sure it's "space age" materials just sounds like "challenge" to the average knife-wielding london hoodie... :D

Body panels
Hi all, gather this is a contentious issue, given some problems with MJP auto's' supplier... but does anyone know of anywhere that does arch & sill repair kits??? Really want to tidy up the arches & sills on my Z, but nowhere except nissan (complete rear panel) appears to do any!!! Is this the case & will I need to go the expensive route of having some made up? Or just the massively expensive route of complete replacement rear panels and the accompanying extra bodyshop costs?

Wiring HELP!
Nearly there with an (unintended at time of purchase) "restoration project" 300ZX (1991 uk spec(rust to prove it), manual, TT, 2+2). But having wiring problems. Following full engine rebuild, garage recommended I had engine-bay wiring harness plugs (Injector/coil?) looked at as they've gone s**t over time (usual heat related & oxidisation problems) but weren't causing any misfire/other problems. Would have thought other members will have had similar problems & i wondered what the best advice is? are plugs available from Nissan/others for soldering in to the existing wiring loom? new loom the best option? relative costs? Sorry that I'm new to this if I've missed anything obvious on the site, was recommended by a mate to look here! Thanks!
