  1. hi - as title really - I know rare but car I am after both pods - left and right of steering wheel in good condition with good fixings - air con one side and lights on the other kind regards dave
  2. I have over the last month picked up my zed from Jim at Powerzed. I have had a fully forged engine with bigger turbos, injectors etc along with other works that I added to. I am (as always) amazed at the quality of work and customer service that I have received form Jim. communication all the way through the project has been spot on with regular updates and pictures along the way - attention detail like I have never experienced before and the after care is superb. I drove all the way back to devon on the Saturday - I had a running fault (and not as a result of the works) and Jim came to me very next day and sorted - a round trip of well over 200 miles and the sacrifice of his only day off - family in tow again supporting his moves. Everything all the way through has been excellent. No matter what my query (and sadly no matter how dumb) it is always answered. I have run 3 cars in my household for about 15 years and have never had this level of service in all that time - I cannot thanks Jim enough for all his hard work and commitment and enthusiasm with everything he does - absolute pleasure to deal with - a great big thank you too to Donna for supporting and giving the same great service - I cannot recommend them enough and well worth the travel for even the smallest of jobs - nice to know as well they do general every day motors as well - thanks once again will see you soon kind regards dave
  3. I cant wait - was it fun
  4. Hi Mondo - it is indeed josh lakes engine - although no one has a copy of the dyno regards dave
  5. cant agree more - sadly thought this was going to be a post to help others not fall foul of bad practice but it turned into a joke - suppose I have to take my chance when having my car mapped in the next few weeks - not really great if people are aware of issues - you cant feel that strongly if you sit back and allow these people to possibly damage cars while you do nothing - hypercritical to me
  6. I have to say I agree totally. it is frustrating to here people who are enthusiastic and specialists who will not finish this and prevent others from falling foul of those who are or may be damaging members cars - I don't have a vast knowledge of these cars (or any for that matter) and therefore rely on members or traders for their input and recommendations with who to use and in which area. even if there is no solid proof and it is just someone's personal opinion or professional one at that surely it should be shared - I too have spent serious money on my zed through all stages and would be gutted if it went to someone who was not as reputable as I had thought. Perhaps some specific examples a should be given to help us decide - I know traders cant always get it right and things do go wrong but this latest investment for me will be about £10,000 to which I would be devastated if all went well on the build etc yet was damaged through poor mapping - more devastated if people knew full well about these people yet allowed us to give them our pride and joy. Know 100% the person who is working on the engine at present is absolutely spot on in everyway but would like to think as the car leaves him onto the next its in safe hands
  7. I don't believe so I believe it was run in then mapped but again will check - really appreciate the advice - many thanks
  8. thanks for the good advice - will speak to jimmer - sorry Stephen did not get your question on what I am running at present regards dave
  9. ok that's cool thanks for the info jeff - Is noel one that you would not recommend then as you say "have it checked" by someone else regards dave
  10. hi jeff my knowledge of these things are limited (very limited) and I suppose I am now confused - have I still got a potential issue even though its a relatively newly built engine??? as you can see from my history I am not on here an awful lot so I think I have missed something - is there something wrong with the setup or map carried out- would be extremely grateful if you could enlighten me regards dave
  11. Hi - there was nothing wrong with the engine at all at 621 - it was a project car that someone had all engine work done - full re-build etc previously by Jimmer low miles on that re-build - owner had done the engine first while looking for a better shell to drop into and finally when the shell came along he has moved on and lost interest in the project. Hi jeff - I had been following your thread and fully understand (I believe) I have not even got the car back or driven it yet so cannot comment on how it drives - originally it was into Jimmer to rebuild and forge the my engine and while out add slight bigger turbos, injectors and engine loom with a target of about 500bhp - only a rough figure that would I thought be achievable and drive well - my remit all the way through is that it has to be smooth running and be good as a daily driver as well - the cost of the original works was comparable with what I have paid for the doner and have been guided that it was a good way to go - I have had the car for 12 years and you have yourself worked on it several times with the ecu upgrade and boost jets which it ran for many years - then uprated clutch - injector fault and timing belt change amongst other things. - I think if it was me that was jumping up and down and insisting on higher and higher bhp then I would fit into your thread but this is what the engine is already running. The car was running about 350bhp and felt quick enough but was always concerned that it was running at max for stock injectors so would like it to run without being maxed out - I suppose for me is that if it does not drive well enough as a daily driver then I can consider reducing power (is that correct) - I suppose for me although I am not that interested in higher bhp I also don't want to come across to peers that I have spent thousands on this project and "Don't know" its output. I suppose sadly every car that is manufactured and spoken about bhp seems to be up there in the statistic that they all declare first (manufacturers included) regards dave
  12. thanks for the reply - I agree on the farce side of things. I am sadly surrounded by people that believe the bhp is the be all and end all - the car has been away since jan 1st having mods to body work now the engine the first thing I will be asked is the BHP - it was mapped by noel (as previously stated) with an output of 621 I know really it comes down to driveability rather than output but I can here these idiots in my head already.
  13. Hi - my zed is in the great hands of jimmer at the minute replacing the engine with a doner - the engine is complete with all injectors, turbos, exhaust, nistune ecu and smic. The car was mapped not long back by Noel. I don't have the dyno run for it for the time of mapping so just wanted a power run to give the power output once completed. There is a place in devon that does rolling road tuning and power runs but have not had a good experience there before and don't think they know the zx that well - if I just wanted a power run could they mess this up - don't want them tinkering once jammer has worked on it - long winded I know but are all dyno done the same i.e would garage here follow same procedure and get the same output as another garage - hop this makes some sense regards dave
  14. I have for sale a Low level spoiler (with brake light)- and the 4 light lambo light panel - just been removed by bodyshop - all in excellent condition just going for a change - in red at present - will add pics shortly just gauging interest - open to offers - would be collection or arrange your own courier regards dave
  15. I have just had the pleasure in collecting my zed up from Jimmer at powerzed toady. it had all the suspension changed and full big brakes set up - service, mot and ebc fitted plus a host of jobs that he picked up on that would have caused issues in the future. I have to say I am well pleased with everything Jim has done - it is by far the best service I have ever received in my life - communication and attention to details was outstanding - pictures taken at various stages - The car drove better than it has ever before. Would recommend Powerzed to everyone - well worth the 2 hour drive each way. Many thanks Jim for all your hard work kindest regards dave
