  1. I've never heard of this d2 yassa, where abouts are they... would save me a few bob on travel!!
  2. Ok so looked over some mot's It's been 4yrs & roughly 10k milles since the sparkies were changed & no it's not a daily driver. Mostly it's just a summer runner but occationally I'll take it to work.
  3. The belts have been done, Cambelt & water pump I know were changed before I got it, I had the ancillary belts changed 2 summers ago so they should be cool. Spark plugs were changed to NGK's on purchase (don't know how often you're supposed to change them though), the rest of the stuff sounds good though. I'll add them to the list. Cheers Chris Any other suggestions welcome :balloon:
  4. Had my Z 3yrs now & luckily not had many probs with it. I'm thinking of doing some cosmetic work in summer (respray etc) but before I do that wanted to make sure it's mechanically sound. Want to get some new roof rubbers for it as well so was thinking of combining it all into one trip to zedworld / zcentre or similar. Just wanted advise on what's recommended to get checked out? I don't have any problems with it, runs smooth etc but just want to make sure it's all ship shape before I make it look pretty. I was thinking of starting with a compression test.. any suggestions??
  5. Been off for a while but thanks for the replies folks, Boldy I'll check the pipes first that might save me some £££. Barry sorry for hijacking your thread (I did say pm me).
  6. Interesting & good to hear another Z is being looked after. I would love to have mine looked at by a specialist, had a new exhaust fitted & ever since it just smells of petrol every time I run it. Anyone know any good places in the south, I'm based in London? I know you're not allowed to advertise so please PM if you can recommend anywhere.
  7. Despite the lack of enthuiasm I've signed up. Got a 350z & an S2000 coming as well
  8. Huggy Bear, where did you get those sub boxes from?
  9. Out of interest what was the problem with your squeling belts?
  10. I would have entered a bidding war but unfortunately the journey to pick up the exhaust would have caused me some trouble. In the end I ordered one new from 2fast2cool..... can't wait for it to turn up now :)
  11. Agreed, I'm noot looking to go excessively loud, I was more concerned with the tone, would prefer a deep rumble to a high gutless screaming Plazma how much are you looking for the exhaust, does it come with gaskets, bolts etc & where are you based?
  12. Cheers guys, I'm currently on you tube trying to hear what they sound like lol. Does anybody know if it's the pipe size that causes the deeper sound or is it all down to the mufflers & back boxes. Was wondering if the 2' or 2.5' were different in this way.
  13. Hi folks, i just failed an MOT & need to get a new exhaust (cat back). I'll be honest I'm not suprised, I knew it was on it's way out but wanted advice on what you think is best or what's commonly used & approved. I'm not exactly loaded but I guess it costs what it costs & I know they're not cheap. I've got no mods to my car other than an apexi intake & to be honest I don't see much happening in the near future but the next step would likely be a chip & remap. It's a 91 Z32 Jap TT LWB Basically what I want to know is which exhaust should I got for, the few I've spotted for not much cash are 1. Japspeed http://www.templetuning.co.uk/japspeed-300zx-turbo--non-turbo-cat-back-exhaust-system-866-p.asp Spotted on ebay for less http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-300ZX-TURBO-Z32-CAT-BACK-EXHAUST-SYSTEM-CATBACK_W0QQitemZ270419233525QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090702?IMSfp=TL0907021710001r21726 2. Mongoose from Z Centre http://www.zcentre.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?cPath=21_23&products_id=78 3. HKS Silent Hi Power http://www.templetuning.co.uk/hks-silent-hi-power-exhaust-system-nissan-z32-300zx-1462-p.asp (every time I've seen this there's only a pic of one side so I'm hoping it's still both sides). Admittedly I haven't searched around for the cheapest, just trying to work out what I need first. Any help is much appreciated & I'm hoping to order in the next couple of days. Chris
  14. To be honest the spark plugs weren't very wet at all but it seemed to be a commom suggestion so thought I'd give it a go. Jammed a screwdriver in to hold the throttle open whilst I was cleaning them too as that was also suggested, can't remember why (something about letting air get in somewhere to help dry it out), that was only for about 20 mins then I threw it all back together. Shame you have to send yours to the garage but to be fair it was completely by chance I had the tool. I used to have a CRX & somebody wrote me off a few years ago, I scraped the car but kept the little tool kit, amazingly it had one in there. Might be worth checking ebay for a tool, will take longer but may be a fair bit cheaper.
  15. Hey, just to let you know I used your trick with the speaker connectors & it worked a treat, I got a code 55 back after that. It still wouldn't start but I went through a few of the old threads (including your one actually), & figured it was flooded. After cleaning 4 of the spark plugs pulling the fuel pump fuse & turning it over a couple of times I put the plugs back in & hey presto, just like nothing was ever wrong. :hyper: Thanks a lot for your help on this!!
