Ok as title any experts on this subject? I purchased a set ( pair ) of web cameras with software etc and loaded mine up, did all the messenger account bit etc and then sent the other camera and software to my Daughter in Cyprus.

She well her hubby has set it up and tonight we had the big test, after some initial problems we got connected to each other, the instant messaging is working, the audio is working both ways and we can see our own camera image ( small version at bottom of page ) and see my daughter camera image just fine.

However they can see their own camera image but not ours:confused: we have gone through the install, camera set up, downloads, reboots etc all night to no avail, its so frustrating as with the exception of the one way video its brilliant, we can see our new grandson from the comfort of our living room anytime but they cannot see us!!!! when we call them and they accept the audio is fine and we can see both camers but they can only see their own and a message saying loading for our camera!!!

Have done the Google search all that came up with was firewalll issues but all incoming data is ok and even tried it off.

Microsoft help centre is bloody bewildering and the only help was a similar issue can be caused by this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/834481/en-us

(Intel network adapter installed) I checked the adapter on my notebook and it did not seem to be the problem one mentioned in the link, why the hell it would cause that I do not know anyway.

Eventally it got too late to get my daughter to check her notebook ( Cyprus 2 hours ahead ) so back on it tomorrow, so hard to diagnose your own pc issues but trying to do it to two at the same time in different parts of the world is mad! give me zed to work on anytime:rofl:

Any help or advice gratefully accepted.

Very strange error, make sure you are both using the same version of msn messenger, firewalls disabled and all the software is installed correctly, all i can really thing of to be honest mate

Id recommend you to install Skype a program designed just for webcam comunication. try it out :D

Did you do the Webcam Wizard in Windows Messenger?? may not have configured your Device in that which could be a reason!

The whole webcam thing can be very fiddely! If still fails Install a different Version of Windows Messenger can sometimes sort it out! only takes 5mins :D

Good Luck
