Rear Wings vs Standard Spoiler

Without kicking off another "To Modify or Not to Modify, That is the question" debate...

I'm looking for a bit of advice on the replacement of the OE rear spoiler for something errmmm ALOT BIGGER!!

My gaytex foam effort is peeling like a sun ripened fruit and doing the rest of my Silver Winged Beast From the East an injustice. Time for either:

a) a respray - quoted around 200 quid to get re-primed and sorted.

or b)New high level rear wing.

Firstly, I want it all to look really good. No dodgy joins, no poking out over the rear in the wrong places and certainly nothing like the cardboard-tastic nasties sellotaped to the back of many a Citroen Saxo round here. Any ideas on price? I need a new boot skin don't I? This will fit a standard Z back end without a wide-arch kit and the rest won't it?

I've been looking at those on the Z centre - would you advise to get the work done there or does anyone know of somewhere either in Newcastle / Sheffield / London (long story) that has experience fitting these to Zed's?

So what's it to be? Re-spray OE and keep classy lines, or go with the new wing and scare some of those pesky other motorists out of my way?

Advice, thoughts and experiences would be more than welcome.

Cheers,

I have the Wings West mid-wing with intergral brake light...looks the dogs. Does obsure rear view a bit...hey but when do you have to look in your mirror in a zed.

There are bigger wings out their...but imho tend to ruin the "low" lines of the zed.......

Check pics out in rides section

why not get a boot skin and just have that, If you like the "low" lines of a zed then its great, looks much better than the stock one IMO. they if and when you want, you can splash out on a HUGE spoiler, btw, the one big mac has on is MASSIVE, I didnt realise hwo big these things were till i saw one first hand at billing and i though eek.gif oh my! thats BIG! wink.gif

Thanks for the replies folks!

I am liking ze big ones ya!

I like the Mid-level fella on submarine's but then I like the sound of the roost of spray and the visibility from the high levels too!!

Going to give PPS a ring - cheers MAC1, and see what they say. Might only be in Newcastle until Friday though, and not sure I could cope leaving my Zed all alone for a week or so.

I prefer large ones on cars and little on the ladies.
