hi guys the garage have finished my car all bar the map. Its running a map at actuator pressure only and will now need to be mapped up to full tilt. They have quoted me five hours of dyno time. Does that sound right to you.

sounds about right. What's the garage again, looking at options for getting my AEM tuned, my alternatives seem to be booked for the next few weeks.

hey j they are spc in horsham they charge ninety plus vat per hour for dyno work. Phil runs the place and has been a good guy so far. They are on 01403257257.

A car manufacturer takes a lot longer than 5 hrs to map an ECU properly ! Watch what your doing as there are not may people around that know what there doing, most are d*ckh*ads

Hi mate i see your using the AEM, When he's finished it's worth checking how the car runs when really cold. I know from the AEM forum there were some minor issues with different cars tbh, mapped when very warm, ran naff when when cold. It's easily solved like, just summit to take into account should it happen to you. So don't be alarmed if if it does ;)

a good mapper should easily be able to map a car in under 5 hours!! most ecus now have a base map to start from so its just a case of building it up from there

Thanks guys

I'll keep my eye out for the cold running Smithy.

Should get it back in the morning so Ill let you know how it goes.

Cheers

when my AEM was maped it was only on the rollers for 2 maybe 2 1/2 hours, ive done over 1000 miles since with out having to contact the tuner since, although saying that i do need to sort out the ignition once my modified CAS goes on.

have a word with Ryan at 2bar tuning, all he does is AEM, knows these EMS's like the back of his hand....... 07812786303.

hes from oxford but will travel to a rolling road near you.

Not according to an engineer who is very well respected by major car companys, eg Ford, that does very high performance building and tuning of engines

Only what he said to me, i dont know myself.

i would imagine he is talking custom ecu with custom looms etc and having to build up a map and setting from scratch will will obviously take lot of time but the likes of the aem is pure plug and play and has a few base maps to start with :)

yep, a manufacturer would start from scratch, a very lengthy process. But starting from a Base map and developing it from there is not going to be as long winded.
