i have just finished building my pc and i have a problem with my memory and graphics card. i have a intel quad core 9550, 4 gb of ram and ati 4870x2 2gb graphics card. it has install ok but my card is showing as only 1gb dedicated and 3gb shared its taking 2gb of my ram and sharing it (which i dont want it to do) so when i start task manager it shows only 1 gb of ram free any ideas how i can sort this out

doesn't vista 32 bit only utilise a total of 3gig including video mem? might be 4gig but it's no more that that you need 64 bit. xp is worse

obviously you gone through the bios and motherboard manual maybe you have to enable over a certain size video memory arpeture. never had any dealings with such hooooge cards must need a good power supply for that lot. I had to go to a pc power 750w(or 800w can't remember) for a q6600 and 9800gtx 512. Wish I could be of more help, things are getting crazy on the pc building front now
