Whilst car was being worked on, I had huge smic's fitted, the aftermarket bumper wont allow for the indicator to fit back in the hole, I want to mesh the hole to allow for better cooling, what indicators can I get and where would I put them, I have taken a couple of pics, any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Have just seen my question answered :o

i have the same problem. got "godspeed" smic's and have got smithy's ducts for airflow, but the rear of the indicators do hit the front of the ic.

looking at a post on here for amber led's in place of the indicator, and a little dremeling on the front bumper to remove the mounts for original markers, then placing some mesh for more airflow looks a good idea to me.

when i have done this, hopefully over the next few weeks, i will put a post on with pics so you people can see.

It should'nt be a big issue with the stock bumper, I know a lot of the guys in the U.S have fitted the godspeeds and just had to modifiy the indicator slightly. J1mmytt has done it also.

Then duct the fog ducts to the intercoolers.

its not a big issue, but the rear of the indicator holder is hard against the ic.

after time i would say the wires would start to chaff:shock: and thus resulting in a faulty front repeater.

Of the guys who have fitted godspeed ics do you know notice much improvement?

ok,:)

just purchased this indicator set from e-bay for £10 with insurance and delivered!!:dance:

i will make some sort of bracket to attach it to the upper section of the bumper where the original marker sits and fill the existing hole with mesh that matches the rest on my front bumper. it may take a while for delivery and for me to fit, but when it is done i will post some pics for you all to see.;)

I have just bought these, I will be doing the same thing, as they are so thin I might attach them inside the mesh so that they are out of site, untill I turn them on obviously.

can u post some pics when u have fitted urs, either here or pm me.

also do u think u can cut the wires and wire direct to the new indicator, or will it need some sort of unit as its led?

No worries , I will send you some pics when complete, not sure about how to fit, I will let you know though as soon as I get them on.

Saw something like these in Halfrauds! I do remember it saying on the box are purely for show and are not actually indicators IE Road LEgal! Then again the amount of dodgy headlights and stuff on some cars these days im sure youd be fine!

i was going to manufacture a simple 90 degree bracket for the top side and mount it to the inner, upper face or the bumper with screws, small bolts, adhesive, etc... then mesh below/behind and dremel all the unwanted bits away for a smooth look.

Here is the finished product, not 100% happy as they are useless in the daytime, can hardly notice them. In the near future I will be removing the bumper and remeshing the bumper and fitting uk indicator/sidelights.
