Hi all,

Ive taken my front water pipes off the engine today to replace the thermostat.

When I took it off I noticed it had some sort of paper gasket on them both with the silcon glue.

Ive tried ringing Nissans who didnt know of a 300zx :headvswal Do you mean a s14 sir? No you tw@t.

Does anyone know if a gasket is availble for the pipes or the previous 2 had been made up?

Cheers

Dan

you don't need it made, just use semi hardening sealant.

Halfords Red stuff does the job, just make sure you get it all on the suface, leave for a minute and bolt back on.

If the water pipes are pitted slightly where the hose fitted apply some sealer inside the new bridge pipes to prevent any leaks.

Ok thanks!

Looks like a trip to Halfrauds tomorrow!

Oh yea one other thing do i have to use the liquid gasket around the thermostat aswell?

No the thermostat is held and sealed by the the water pipe.make sure the thermostat jiggle valve is at the top or you wont be able to clear the air out of the cooling system.
