Has anyone still got 56k!? Most are on broadband. I've had broadband for about 6 or 7 years now, I guess you can warn people who are accessing via a 3g card in a 2g area!

Who still has 56k then?

It probably matters more to people on mobile broadband devices these days.

I was still on dial-up until about 3 months ago. I'm now on mobile broadband. Hey, it's not me, blame BT the twisting bar-stewards. They won't enable my exchange.

Even 1.5mbps on mobile broadband is still plenty fast enough. You kinda forget the speed of dial-up when it's all thats on offer.

Only ever see the term used on the U.S forum...and seriously overused. No need, even if there are people using 56k modems why is there the need to warn them anyway

annoys me ! LOL

My mobile broadband connects at 7.2mb but i'll never achieve that when downloading because no operator can sustain that speed at the moment. I'm more than happy with download speeds of up to 100kps, it's positively lightening fast.

I just find it sad that BT seem to have forgotten (or deliberately ignoring) the remaining approx 7% (or whatever the figure is) of the country when it comes to high speed comms. I just wish they would stop sending me junk mail about their broadband packages in the post, when they should know they can't even provide me with the service they're selling. Rant over.

yes............I'm on a satellite internet connection, 1Mb d/l speed shared between 10 of us and the traffic speed is throttled during the day :(

I'm on 256K broadband. For Belize that's fast!! To get 2Mb it costs in the region of £200 per month - think yourselves lucky.
