back of the engine sounds like the pipes that go through the bulkhead to the heater

yup - classic problem, repairing mine at the moment! very common fault with them 2 identical large pipes in the center rear of the engine bay. you may need to remove part of the loom to get your hands down there to replace them.

these hoses are double skinned, so you may not see the leak there, but its very very likely that they are at fault.

Usually the underside of them that bursts / cracks.

this was mine two months ago.

well after 5 hours and lots of cuts and scrapes got it changed was a short hose about 2 or 3 inchs long right at the back of the engine really not designed to be changed with the engine in i dont think lol but its done thank god cheers for the replys

Well done mate. It wasn't the heater matrix feeds then ?

Sounds like the passenger side turbo cooling pipe. I had mine go on the isle of wight. Much easier to do with the gearbox off or engine out.

I dont kow why they put a rubber pipe there, it joins to metal pipe and is only a few inchs long, why didnt they hard pipe that bit?

I was also going to put, that pipe started the riping of my car apart to fix it, but ended up in breaking it and selling up. Damn little pipe!!! lol
