i could show off and show you my gaming rig if you like - you would only call me a nerd though - want me to start posting 3d mark scores??

regards,

alex

p.s. laptops cant play games :D

What ya got?!?!?

Wonder what res they ran it at? What spec is that laptop?

Whats odd is that my desktop gets just over 13,000 points, but I get a lot higher FPS in some of the tests than what you've posted.

Mine doesnt run a DOOM 3 test though, but I only have the free version, maybe it boosted the points from that.

Either way its a damn good score for a laptop!!!!!

12882 heres 3dmark 06 on custom desktop 9800gtx have to crank the quad up to see what i get. thats a damn good score for a lappy

I gotta E6600 clocked to 3.4ghz and a 8800gtx clocked.

From memory I had got from 9000odd points stock to 13000 clocked.

i aint upped the vcore volts yet or n/sbridge figure with my set up should hit 3ghz with q6600 at least only got to 2.7ghx with stock volt so far but don't wanna cook my cpu the comet laptop you posted indianzx will be ok at basic res/games but the likes of oblivion bioshock and crysis are gonna struggle at higher res

here a quick cut n paste from the spec sheet - I have to dash as Ive just ordered a pizza and have to drive into town to collect lol

basically its the extreme X9000 CPU at 2.8 gigs, 2x 8800M GTX (SLI) and 4 gigs ram (though only 32 bit windows :( ) also 128 gig solid state HDD

I dont know what res they ran the tests at but it is 1920x1200 WUXGA screen so guessing they ran it at max res

I was gonna say that, must be a tight squeeze!!!!!

Your Q6600 should do 3ghz easy. Cant remember if you have to up voltages for that, but even if you do, its only going to be a little bit. Just keep an eye on temps.

I've upped most of my voltages to acheive my clock, but for £100 for a new chip doesnt matter if it fries, lol.

its an asus p5n32-e sli so boards is more or less same as the striker. vcore in cpuz says 1.264v stock so a little of headroom there coller in a xigmatec so fine for temps i had the 8800gt 512 it was just as good as my 9800gtx to be honest but without the physxs *****x

Also have a look at the Dell XPS range.

Ok i don't like Dell computers personally, the cheapies you see advertise are just tack but the Dell XPS range was Desigened with gamers in mind

I think im upto about 1.435v I think it is. Up to 1.5v was my limit, over that CPU life is too short.

bejebus whats the battery life like

dunno not tried it on batts yet

im scared  but i would imagine that even with the solid state drive it will be crap :smash:

I had a P3 at 3.2ghz and that battery lastest about 1hr ish. I recon you will get 20 mins, lol.
