Hi everyone havent been on in a while i know but i feel like crying so thought it would be good to come here.

 

Torrential rain in dublin today, flooding in places, went to drop the missus home and came up against one, decided it wasnt too bad by the look of it so drove in, turned out to b a foot deep n ended up stuck in the mini with rising waters.

 

Managed to push her out but she is now half full of water and wont start.....

 

Sounds like time to cry.....oh no not yet, went to a garage this morning found a lovely 2002 Laguna offered brilliant deal including trade in.....cant see it happening now!

Never mind , it could have been worse . It could have been a ZED :eek:

 

Joking aside , bad luck mate . I hope you get it sorted out .

 

BTW , just curious , if she`s your " Mrs " , why don`t you live together ? Or I`ve misinterpreted the whole thing and you were dropping her home and going on somewhere else to return to the same home later .

I hope so too just hoping its just the distributor cap isnt sealed proper and therefore cut.

Oh dear . You`re too young to get into that kind of old-fashioned stereotypical behaviour . People twenty , even forty years older than you would cringe at it . She`s not "the " anything , for a start . Stop it !!! LOL

Im used to it... ah we dont just our friends think its funny that we can tell exactly what the other will do and argue over silly things!!

I've been in that situation several times and what I've learned is wait and let someone else take the first plunge and then to see how deep it is from where it comes up to on their car !

 

I once had to a 60 mile detour to avoid a flood I was't going risk the Zed in !

I did sit and watch others but didnt think with the mini being lower it couldnt do it! Plus it was the only way to get past, there isnt another road so i had two choices, and picked the wrong one!

mini's are notorious for the wet stuff ......youve probably soaked the coil and Ht leads

get to halfrauds and buy some damp start ..spray it everywhere dizzy cap coil and plug leads , alternator etc leave it stand for an hour or two with the bonnet up ( in a dry place ) and hopefully it will start ok ..ive a few minis i know what they are like ..good luck buddy

Just got her home, carpet is in the dryer, water has been sucked out with a hoover, engine is trying to kick over and spluttery but she is sitting waiting for a while before trying again! She is getting better

Problem is getting to it, it is right at the front next to the grill and no hand room to get down to it, going to try taking the grill off to get into it

silly boy adam:slap:, but i suppose your young and impatient, it was really bad on the north side yesterday i believe, the m1 closed, a friend of mine was due to catch a flight to australia he didnt get there in time the flight took off with 15 people on board and 100 left behind

I wasnt being impatient i forgot what i was driving! Yeah was unbelievable. The girlfriends sister was due in from spain last night at 9clock, got diverted to shannon, werent allowed off plane and eventually got to dublin at 3 this morning!
