Vista! (need I say more ack.gif )

When someone sends me a file via msn - they are not saving in 'my received files' and I've checked the settings in MSN, all paths lead there! All says 'transfer complete' etc ... but nowhere to be found!!

Also, when downloading something like a programme (.exe file) they arn't saving either in the location I specify. It all goes 'ping' and says download complete - but nothing there :(

Any ideas where to look or what to change?

Hi Athene

When I download anything using Vista it goes straight into my documents.....

Try doing a search for the file, when or if it finds it you will at least know where it has gone.

nothing in the documents file... I did have something mega go wrong with the thing a while ago and did a restore to a previous date thing and since then the file side with downloading and receiving has gone tits up :(

maybe its a sign - I should stop downloading :p

done.. nothing there

sounds like the restore lost a file you might be looking at a reinstall, just to be sure you are saying where to save your files to and also check what format you are saving the files in

Hi Athene

On my Vista machine, when I click download it displays 'Download MAnager' and shows all previous downloads and I think it puts them into 'My Downloads' if you don't specify anywhere else...

Have a play downloading the same thing and see if it tells you you've already downloaded it and if it gives you an option to specify where to savie it to

Hope this gives you some help

Tony
