The price is right? But how much?

Ok..new to the site so be gentle.

Following my other posting I'm looking to buy a good example of a 90-94 TT Coupe. Hopefully low'ish miles (40-60K), all paper work, recipts, service etc..basically doing my best to avoid a shed.

What sort of price (and I know this is a fairly 'open' question) should I be looking to pay..does £5k ish sound too high / too low? I've seen relativly low milers of this age for £3.5k but that seems..dare I say it cheap. Difficult question I know..but please..I need a 300!

i paid £6200 for my 1991 jap 300zx twin turbo manual with 44k but i seen a few good autos for around 5-6k but i would be very wary about any twin turbo at £3500 and i think you may struggle to buy a good one for 5k but you never know

I paid £6000 for my import with 48000 miles on the clock. That was including service, shipping, paperwork etc.

I don't think you'll find a UK one with those miles for £5k.

What I meant with the £5k thing was there alot on Autotrader for that sort of price. I could go higher, maybe £6k something but would really want something rather special for that money, yes..I'm a skin-flint, go on taunt me!

Perhaps I'm being a bit optomistic then?

I was looking round an M reg UK manual Twin Tub on Sunday with me Mrs T.

It had 77,000 miles on the clock and was good condition, not an Alan by any standards. Engine bay was awful. What it needed was some serious TLC.

Garage wanted 8995 for it, I wouldn't have given 7 large and it just demonstrated to me that even such a late example good ones are REALLY hard to find now!

I hunted for ages for a UK spec one and gave up in the end as the only really nice ones were £8k ish.

These people always have a few.

Can't remember the specs, but have a look on www.loot.com, there was 3 or 4 Z's on there.
