Yeah I know it's a little strange for someone with a Modded 300zx to want speed humps, but I live on a road which runs paralell with the high street.

 

When the high street is busy during rush hours, people decide to take a short cut to skip the traffic and use the two acces roads form the high street to get onto my road which is about 300 meters long.

 

Once they get on to my road it's like they are on a drag strip, trying to get down there as quick as possible to skip the traffic.

 

Now the road is not very wide, it has cars parked on both sides and there are also other streets inbetween the road access points that come out onto my road, one of them being opposite my house.

 

I've been off with flu for a few days and during the day I've counted at least 10 - 15 people doing at least 70 down my road.

 

I've got a 9 month old daughter who I would like to think can play safely in the street when she's a little older.

 

What's the proceedure for applying for speed humps ?. Do I need to get a petition signed ?

go out there and paint white lines like they have for speed cameras. that will slow them down abit

 

did it outside my folks home and it worked, least till they painted over them

I always prefer those traffic calming measures where they block your side of the road off so you have to stop. Does the job and without knackering your suspension

I think you have to get in touch with your local council rather than the police and they will point you in the right direction however did you see the tv programme of the guy that put a piece of hardboard about 18"x18" on a lamp post and painted it with yellow stripes? Worked a treat!!
