I have just fitted new zorst and induction kit and now idling at 950  was at 800 before !! Induction made the differance ! Base idle screw wont go in any further ! Could it be that my base timing is out causing a high tickover which I slowed down just after I got the Z and now cos of better breathing has gone back up ??? I know that advancing the timing can give a faster idle !!! Any suggestions chaps ?

Did you disconnect the battery when fitting? as you will need to reset the ecu to learn the new settings. Also check the plug and wires to the maf, that can cause idle issues and possibly clean the maf filament of dust or debris with either compressed air ( in a can from maplins or tyre line)HTH

Yep reset ecu ! Battery off for about 2 hrs. ! Checked maf plug and wires etc. and cleaned maf out with switch cleaner ! Will run for few days and see if it settles . Want to get timing checked anyway, when I can find someone round here with timing light and helpful disposition lol :D Thanks for reply Graham. By the way how is the decat coming on ? Still interested in your old pipes :hyper:

Also interested in having my pods done and some dash led's. Cheers Maz :duffer:

Hi Maz

Just fitting my new shocks at the minute, which is a real pain in the arse.

My new pipes and manifold has arrived, so thats my next job, as long as the weather stays dry cos im doing it on my drive.

Hopefully get them done this week and then pm you re: decat downpipes.

I have kept the box that the new ones came in so will be ready to post.

Whenever you like with the pods and dash leds, just let me know colour combinations etc

when youre ready to go ahead.

Cheers

Graham

Checked today and is 0.48 at idle !!! Is this o.k. ? Slightly high but will this cause the idle speed to go up from 750 to 950 ?
