Please help! F***ers tried to steal my Z tonight!

Somehow they opened the driver door (must have used this bar thingy because the keylock is non operational - I disconnected it a year ago and only used the alarm remote). They tried to start it and screwed up the ignition. Stuck a key breaker in obviously.

The key will not go in anymore (not all the way, almost - sometimes it even will) and it won't turn whatsoever.

I had the car towed to safety and now I'm thinking I'll remove the ignition, take it to a shop to fix it and put it back in.

Is it possible to remove the ignition as a DYI, how hard is it, any special tools?

What other options do I have? I was told I can have a special key made which is very thin so they won't ever be able to stick the key breaker in anymore.

Please advise and I hope it doesn't ever happen to anyone of ya.

Arse!!! I hate those sticky fingered bastards - if they ever touch mine and I catch them - I'll kill them! The only way of stopping them is to fit a length of wire to your bodywork and on the other end - yep you guessed it - a 13amp Mains plug!!! I'll even come down and film the outcome for you if you want!!!!

If it wasn't for these bastards our insurance wouldn't be so high! Sorry about the language but it really gets my back up! Why can't they just get a f@#king job? Saying that - they did pick a nice car so maybe they have a bit of taste at least!

I am SO sorry to hear about what's happened to you mate - hope the Police do the right thing for a change instead of nicking us while enjoying our motors!!!

where in the country do you live? i hope nowhere me as mine has no windows in tonight, window tinting firm let me down and have left me two council binbags. dont think they comply with 65% legal visibility.

Sorry to hear about that Keepsake.

The offenders who done this deserve to have your removed ignition shoved up their arse in my opinion!!.

Not funny GeeZer, sorry to hear about your motor, hope you get it sorted. Just be thankful that you still have it and they weren't 100 percent successful.

;-/

I am sorry for what happened to you. This is why I had my clifford installed which has a proximity sensor in it. It is sooo snesitive that the other day I locked it, forgot that I had then started to wash it, it picked up the shadow of the sponge through the roof(maybe it was a vibration) and it went metal at me, scared the life out of me!!
