Posted July 17, 200816 yr Swaped my silver auto for a impreza wrx last night. the scoobie is only in the country 4 months and is very clean. not sure if should sell it or have a little fun in it first. am doing alot of work on chewies red 300 as the engine is runnin very bad and the belts need doing so might drive the scoobie untill its done then sell it.
July 17, 200816 yr Author needs a moppin first but will have them up by sunday if it stops raining. its still fairly standard but am lookin into gettin a few little bits for it.
July 17, 200816 yr what part of the country did the z go to? and i hope you told him to log into the irl section on here,
July 18, 200816 yr Author The lad that took the 300 for the scoobie rang me last night sayin the gearbox went on the 300. As u would expect he was quiet pissed over it. I told him it was a trade sale but i would send him the spare box i have but he would have to get it fitted himself. Am i actin the bo---cks or should i get it done for him. When i gave him the car he test drove it and was happy and it was driving great but he thinks i have robbed him. The spare box i have cost me 800 euro and 200 to get it delivered.
July 18, 200816 yr What is he suggesting?? swapping back?? if so he may have found that the fuel costs are way more than he expected?? Â what would you do with the box other wise?? could he have burnt out the clutch already? ;ots of questions you need to ask first before just giving in to him....
July 18, 200816 yr more than fair i would think richard, after all you dont know what way he has been driving the car over the last couple of days, if you are satisfied that it was ok before you sold it not a lot more you can do really  i really think that when cars change owners problems can arise poss due to different driving styles, good luck
July 18, 200816 yr Author will give him the spare box and the rest is up to him. i am a fair person and would not wish that on anyone but sayin that i can not be held responsible for the box breaking. i actually feel sorry for the dude so will find someone who will do the job and he can pay him.

Shit happens richard. The silver z I imported from the UK in '03 blew the autobox in 2 months. I didn't even bother calling the guy. Just had it done in dublin for 1200 quid. As I told you that's why I opted for the manual conv. last time round, it's a better investment. Did you get the idling rev' sorted?
August 10, 200816 yr Author na done the belt and pump and cleaned all the conectors but still no luck so i have decided to just let a pro give it a complete overhaul, it may cost a few quid but its not possible to drive it like this as it is missin badly now. he is gonna take it next monday and keep it for a week to get it right. with any luck he will get it going right for me to enjoy it till its parked up for the winter. Keep in touch.
