i know its a little early, but how do you guys here in the irl region feel about us taking a 300zx.co.uk club stand at the above event, there are no details available as regards costs etc as yet, but i dont want to make enqueries about a stand if nobody is interested, japfest @mondello is the biggest/only jap car show over here with club stands, trade stands, time attack, drag and drifting.

this would be the FIRST time ever the club took a stand at any event in irl., if there was enough interest, i would ask the neo for a small contribution towards costs, and we should have our region banner by then as well.

its also possible i might ask on the z club and see if any of there irish members would like to join us, all suggestions, feedback, comments appreciated.

 

THE ARRANGEMENTS

Mondello only rang me today with the final details

they are posting me stickers for our cars today, only cars with these stickers will get into the paddock for the show stands, and at the reduced price(20euro for car and 2 people)

ALL cars on stands MUST be there before 9am, so my plan is to be there about 8am meet you at the gate give you your sticker and then you pay in.

i will update this as i hear from the cars coming, and the weather is to be good

yea he gave me a few clues as to what it might be but after six hours last nite still no luck. foung a fuel leak though. im so pissed that it is layed up in my garage and cant drive it. even thinkin of just sellin it and cuttin my losses.

jesus richard it must be something simple. You know it only started after the man. conversion, didn't quavey say he had the very same thing after his conversion. Might be worth sending him a pm

ok striped down the front of engine to get at electric connection so i can clean them. put everything back together again all cleaned and once again its still runnin at high idle. checked aac valve and also cleaned that to no avail. addjusted the base idle screw and it took it down to 1000 rpm and thats was great till i went for a drive and now its runnin 2000rpm. if i was a drinking man i would be on my 5th bottle of southern comfort now.if its wasnt for all the hard work that chewie put in to the car i would take a sledge to it. but tomorrow is another day so i will try something else. great experience on the engine tho im getting. would rather be drivin it tho.

yea i know it is but is so much to these engines i could be checking for a year and be no closer. thinkin of bring it over to jeff in zedworld so he can get it right for me.

I don't know what to say, I 'm not mechanically minded. I do know if it were still mine I would be driving it as much as possible and not too bothered about the high idle. everyone's different I know, im sorry this happened Richard, give us a ring tomorrow if you can. I understand your pain, especially after getting the bumper and interior sorted. No offence to jeff, but you know it will cost a lot to bring it over there, there has to be an easier solution. Did you pm quavey or post up on help and advice?

yea mate i tried a few links and tried all there advice but still no luck. i know you would drive away but i am the type who loves a car when its runnin rite. hate small problems. maybe its just me. but mark my words i will get it rite and i will be seein ye some time in the future when its all fine. have big ideas for the car but before i do anymore stylin work i wanna get it runnin sweet first.

If it's of any use to you, I still have the original nissan chip from the ECU. Maybe if it was put back in it might cancel out the idle, but I doubt it. The machanic who did the conversion has left the garage he was working in, If I manage to track him down is there anything you want me to ask him? by the way hope this helps

i am gonna try and ground pin 44 on ecu today in a final bid to get to mondello on sunday. gonna also replace the connections on aacv and other connections gonna clean as good as i can. would love to meet ye all up there so wish me luck.

Great to hear it Richard. Sorry I'll miss you guys on Sunday, but the all Ireland final is on between Waterford and Kilkenny. It's not usually my cup of tea, but seeing as i'm a Waterford man living in south Kilkenny, the slagging and craic will be too good to miss, plus the fact the reast of family would have a hissy fit if i wasn't there.
