You best bet is to use another browser, i mean Internet explorer is one of the worest browsers ever made, why not try firefox or opera? They are alot easier to use, contain alot more updates and you can do alot with them :)

I've had a lot of probs with internet explorer seven. If you're using XP, i'd prob say go with firefox or opera as murt said. Apple safari aint bad either

I have a problem where IE7 (and outlook) freeze or hang on startup, tried antivirus programs and all microsoft updates reg cleaners and still wont work so I installed firefox mozilla and no probs. icon14.gif

I've just formatted the hard drive back to factory condition and sticking with IE6. This seems to run a lot better than 7. I guess i've been using Internet explorer for so long i never thought of using firefox or similar. If this starts again i'll try firefox so thanks for the reply's guys.

I use XP, and installed Firefox recently.. My PC crashed about 10 times a day, so went back onto IE7, with no problems.

Bet you had Firefox BETA, firefox is more stable than internet explorer, so the only thing i can put it down to is you had the Beta version.

The thing i've noticed with internet explorer is its not saving my passwords, it used to which was great, like when i log on here as BIGSSS as soon as i clicked on the B the user and password would come up which was nice. But now i have to type in every letter. It still asks me if i want to save user and password and i click yes but then it never does.

Am i just being lazy??? lol.

It was BETA, yes..

EI7 & FF Beta both crash my PC. TO be honest I am seriously thinking about installing linux and giving Microsoft teh push. Id only miss out on playng a few games, and open office is free and every bit as good as MS Office products.

Beta Means Test software that has been released just for testing purposes!!

Quote From Wiki :

Beta

Betaware is a nickname for software which has passed the alpha testing stage of development and has been released to a limited amount of users for software testing before its official release. Beta testing allows the software to undergo usability testing with users who provide feedback, so that any malfunctions these users find in the software can be reported to the developers and fixed. Beta software can be unstable and could cause crashes or data loss.

A beta version is the first version released outside the organization or community that develops the software, for the purpose of evaluation or real-world black/grey-box testing. The process of delivering a beta version to the users is called beta release. Beta level software generally includes all features, but may also include known issues and bugs of a less serious variety.

The users of a beta version are called beta testers. They are usually customers or prospective customers of the organization that develops the software. They receive the software for free or for a reduced price, but act as free testers.

Clear Your cookies, files etc then close internet explorer and reopen it, then login here and tell it to save, that should work, also remember to click the little button "remember me/save details" what ever it says (mine logs me in automaticlly)

Hi bud, i've done all that but it never remembers me. It used to everytime i tried to log in no problem. Now it asks everytime i log in do you want to remember your passwords but it keeps forgetting me:cry:

Even now when i log in here, sometimes when i click on the B for BIGSSS, the dropdown menu appears and i click on it but no password comes up and i have to type it in.

You using IE6 or IE7

I'm using IE6 at the moment, yesterday it was IE7, thats when i was getting the runonce page for saving your settings, there is a patch for this problem but it didn't fix it for me, i even followed instructions to go into the system registry and change the values in the runonce page, this stopped the the page from appearing when i logged onto the internet but i found that when i logged on my desktop would dissapear and wouldn't come back until i re-booted. Thats when i decided to do the factory reset (Lenovo Thinkpad) and just use IE6 but it won't save my passwords.

I'll do it now and let you know, my mates in IT and said he had the same problem, that who told me about the patch but it didn't work for me.

Could my system be corrupt when i've done a factory reset of the entire HD?

Its not even offering to save my passwords now and i've checked all the boxes are still ticked, so i've unchecked them and rechecked them but still the same.

Looks like i'm just going to stop being a lazy git and type lol.

Thanks for all the help though, much appreciated.

This is the new copy lol, its been doing it for weeks so i keep trying re-installing and starting from scratch. My mate who works in IT says its something to do with forcing the updates, instead of waiting for windows to install the updates automatically i've been going to the Microsoft site and downloading the updates. Thats why he said i need the patch but it didn't work.
