Bit of a rant! I started on a new orange contract last november and all was well until the GPS (satnav) stopped working on my phone in April. I tried to sort it myself with resetting the phone etc but still doesn't work. Reported it to orange 21st May....and its still not been sorted! Not even a recall to see if they can fix it!! I've been on the phone to them about 7times,e ach time speaking to someone different in the call center and each time having to spend a good 10mins explaining everything! They have repeatedly failed to relay core information to their technical team who just come back with more idiot questions like 'have you tried to use it outside?'. F8cking tw$ts!

Anyway, long story short I called up tonight and said if I don't have a solid answer about how they are going to rectify this I will terminate my contract by friday evening. Problem now is..I'm not sure if I actually can! lol...I believe if I put a stop payment, there's not much they can do except send the collectors who can have the handset back as far as I care and my credit rating might be affected?

I just don't want to be paying, effectively for a handset, that doesn't do what its supposed to do!

Anyone have similar experiences/know of what I can do to get this sorted? Better yet..anyone actually work at Orange?? ( a long shot I know!)

strange one this, i broke my n95 & it was replaced the next day with a recon model, that didnt work so the very next day they sent a brand new one and has worked ever since, i know its a pita being handed from dept to dept to explain the probs all over again!! thought orange was dedicated to customer care!!!

My whole family have been with orange for a while and not had any probs like you...this is my first outing with them and I'm now contemplating taking the legal route. I've spoken to them again tonight twice! The options they are giving me:

1. Buy out my contract - cost approx £480!!

2. They will send me a replacement phone tomorrow out of 'goodwill'. Nevermind that I'm owed a free one anyway due to it being within my 6mth warranty period AND I have insurance cover! but the real kicker is....if they subsequently find that my phone is not faulty...they will charge me £300 for the new one they sent out!!!!

needless to say I went absolutely APE when they told me this!! I've been trying for 4feckin weeks to get someone to look at my phone, even telling them that although I am SUPPOSED to get a new replacement, I would settle for them just repairing it. They keep refusing to call it in as they claim its not faulty (how the hell would they know without looking at it???) and now they say that if it turns out not to be faulty, I have to pay £300!!

If anyone has any notion of the regulatory bodies for mobile service providers I'd be very very grateful to hear from you! I'm not backing down on this as they are well and truly trying to tear me a bumhole and I most certainly do not float that way at all....

Absolutely fuming...I'm actually expecting a call from a 'supervisor' any minute now...

Ive been with them for 10 years, dont know why cos they are crap, but all phone companies are much of a muchness.

I'd love to agree but I've been around a fair bit in terms of mobile providers (o2, 3g and vodafone) and all have been absolutely fabulous no matter what I threw at them!

Anyways, just got off the phone to a supervisor (the first bloke I've been out through to!) and he seems to be making more sense than all the twats previously. Fingers crossed this all gets sorted...I hate it when things like this ruin an otherwise good life!

Orange messed me around alot, they even took a payment out when i stopped the direct debit and the contract was finished. Long story short, i finished the contract and im now with vodaphone who are kind to me :)
