Dan,

In my experience the Nismo mounts are very solid which translates into increased vibration and noise travelling up through the chassis. Furthermore, the Nismos are prone to early failure due to the increased vibration. I've seen several 700+ BHP Z32's (in the US) running stock mounts and have been perfectly fine.

Have a look at our website: http://www.smithys-place.co.uk/oem.php - you're after item OEM012. Can order those in for your (approx. 10 days delivery) and nearly 1/2 the price of Nissan UK item!

If I were you I would pm MAC1, his motor is pushing out serious bhp and I don't think he has had any problems with engine mounts, and I do not think he wet nurses it.

Ian has Noltech engine mounts same as I had on my blue car. From all I have learn't I would say new standard mountsa are good for serious HP, but old knackered ones arn't.

On TT net they were saying you can get the engine mounts for a ford pickup truck which are exactly the same as the Nissan mounts but half the price.

I have it on good authority that you can't get Noltec engine mounts anymore (or at least not very easily). Reports that have filtered back to me over the years is that these mounts are rated as very poor due to the fact that they come apart and don't last very long. I haven't got any personal experience with them and can only pass on what I have been told.

Thanx for your help guys!

I have a new set of stock mounts already so i think i will stick with them at the moment:)

I did see on a site some where that you can buy a engine brace which is like a little shock absorber thingy!

It bolts to the engine and then to the bulk head are these a good idea to reduce engine movement and saving the mounts from heavy abuse?

Not on the zed though, skylines have them, the zed lump really doesnt move alot under the hood anyway. Although i thought of that one before but andy advised against it.
