They were beeping past my office all day!!

Can't say it'd change anything though

your right but it gets people thinking, or pisses them off more.

we need a leaf out the frenchs book & bring the whole country to a stand still!, block the F**king lot! stations, ports the whole motorway if need be to get them goverment :xxx: and the petrol stations like Esso & BP they have some blame to take too, £7billion pound profit in 3 months takes the p1ss in my book!!:mad::mad:

Pain in the butt for me today. Had to leave the van at acton and get the train as they had shut the great west way for them to park on.

Seems to me like the police controlled the situation by doing that as I managed to drive home OK around 5.

I think it turned more into a demonstration than a blockade.

Good on them for at least trying to get the ball rolling. In my mind the only way for anything to happen is for us all to leave our cars etc. at home for the day and use public transport. Imagine the revenue the government would loose as no one was using petrol aand not like last time just not buying it on a certain day.

Lets hope something is done about the 85% Tax on the price.

Yes - the thieving Government will increase it !!

im amazed the stupid f**kers (our adorable government) arent doing something about it, following the results from the local elections. treading on thin ice, and all that.

sory I cant see the point, the government does not have any control over international fuel prices and fuel companies are not going to kill the goden goose are they.

if they are that woried about european competiton then why dont they get offices in europe?

and what about the rest of us, if they loose 20p a liter of tax there, who do you think will pick up the short fall?

New Labor, New Theiving

yeah the more demo's - the more fuel being consumed - the more we pay them ....

They still win :D

Well its about time we started being a bit more aggressive in this country, when we are not happy or feel we are being ill done by.

If you lay down and let someone piss on you, they will carry on doing it! The more people that stand up and are counted, the more chance we have of being heard.

I Was in France over the weekend mate and some protesters tried to run me off the road cos I needed to get past or miss the train... I had my wife and 16 month year old in the car...

Can't see how that kind of behaviour encourages support! I think they deserve whatever they were protesting about!

Agree with the truckers and we should definately support them.

I was sent this earlier today.....

The national average price of unleaded has risen 5.9p in the last 5 weeks, from 107.8p to 113.7p. Diesel has risen an eye watering 9.2p per litre in the same period, from 116.8p to 126.0p.

This means that the average unleaded car now costs £2.95 more to fill up, at £56.85 a tank compared to £53.90 last month. Diesel drivers are now paying an extra £4.60 per tank, up from £58.40 last month to £63.00 today.

Parts of the UK are now hitting 124.9p for unleaded and 137.0p for diesel, whilst the cheapest fuel available has risen again – 111.9p for unleaded and 118.9p for diesel.

Since the beginning of the year unleaded has jumped 10.7p per litre from 103.0p, and diesel was 107.9p, making the rise an alarming 18.1p per litre. That equates to a rise of 10% and 17% respectively.

As a result of the rises PetrolPrices.com estimates that the government is earning an extra £1.2m per day in duty and VAT compared to this time last month.

The national average for unleaded smashed through the £5 a gallon barrier earlier this month, and the latest figures show that 96% of stations across the UK are now selling at or above this price (109.9p per litre).

On top of increasing fuel prices there has been a 50% increase in the amount of car-related tax in the last 10 years, taking the total to an average of £1800 a year in fuel duty, car tax, VAT on fuel and other levies.

The campaign, 'Fair Deal for Drivers' aims to pressure the government into reducing the cost of driving by scrapping the 2p duty rise planned for October, and to abandon plans to increase vehicle excise duty next year for owners of cars registered before 2006. The campaign also urges the government to consider other measures to help drivers during this period of high fuel prices.

Well they need SOMETHING to get back the lost revenue created by the smoking ban! Loss in pub sales and in tobacco duty too no doubt  Now who's supporting the smoking ban??? lol

1.2 million but fingers crossed bye bye Gordon "Bullshitter" Brown at the next general election!

Thing is you pay the money, you feed the coffers or you use your bike or public transport and they will see it as proof their "green" tax was needed for environmental issues and push for more revenue that way (if we all used our push irons, losing revenue on vehicle tax, how long till we will need road tax for that?)! Got you by a nail and a tooth, crafty, overpaid *******s

On a side note please be nice to the cashire this is all we hear and we cant do anything about the price (we have to buy our petrol at that price also)
