After 18 months of ownership, and 6K spent on her, my love affair with the Zed is alas coming to an end....:cry:

She's had:

Cat 1 alarm fitted

DVD player fitted

Sparco hoses (250 miles ago)

Tein tie rods (250 miles ago)

Tein superstreet suspension (250 miles ago)

Tein EDFC (250 miles ago)

Apexi Induction kit (250 miles ago)

Greddy Turbo timer

Full respray (halcyon altantis is the colour)

New dash kit (brushed aluminium finish not fitted)

I blame the government and the oil companies for maintaining prices that are just completely unworkable for todays society. They may as well BAN the internal combustion engine altogether.

Nevermind....I'll be back...hopefully with a Silvia S15 spec - r aero.... so I'm not going to be gone for long.

One of the contributing factors to me getting a new job has been the dramatic rise in fuel costs. I started 10 months ago there and have a 40 miles commute each day. The zed was horrific so i bought a run about, a 2.0 laguna which did me 37mpg... that died after 5 months so i bought a citroen xsara hdi, which will do anything up to 58mpg but because of the rise in diesel (and fuel over all) it hasnt saved me any.... So no more 400 miles of commuting a week, new job has a company van... free travel!

That will save me 200 a month in diesel plus the running cost of a second car. (At 21 its horrific)

Incidently, on the way to jap fest last weekend my zed made 26mpg!!! 251 miles on 43 litres ish how cool is that!!

My Zed was my daily driver and i was filling up every weekend. I had to decide:-

a)keep it and be a bit skint or

b)sell up, free some cash up.

I found i avoided driving the Zed at weekends cause it had cost me £60-70 just to get to work and back.

So i sold up and now i am cash rich and have bought a motorbike! I couldnt find any fast cars with decent mpg and CBA running two cars cause i dont have the room to park ect.. Bikes are the way to go.

I hope you'll pop along at say hi on the bike at the next meet fella?!!

Would liek to do my test this summer...was looking over a neighbours Royal Enfield Bullet yesterday! Not a real sports bike, but looks nice and sounds good too!!
