I just thaught I'd introduce myself.

I had a 1991 Jap TT manual two years ago and it was a bit of a nail, it gave me nothing but trouble, when i sold it I swore I'd never have one again...

...I'm 20 now and have just baught Z number 2, a black 1990 Jap TT manual, I'v had her just over a week. Its got 49,500 miles on the clock and runs incredibly well, sounds perfect and theres no smoke at all.

Now for the funny part, in this first week I'v already had to replace the clutch and sort a misfire that it developed (easy job - bad connection on a coil pack). Also the cat was rattling quite loud so I'v got rid of it and had two nice straight through pipes put on.

Its running perfectly again now so I realy hope the above wasnt the start of things to come.

Just a few little bits of body work to do and it'l be mint.

Welcome bud , i hope replacing your cats with straight pipes doesn,t start it smoking on tickover , it,s a common problem :headvswal

Welcome to the nut house buddy.

Lets hope de-catting dosen't affect the turbo rear seals. Do a search and you will find many threads about it.

Of course we want to see photos etc of your new ride.

Good luck with it and we have our fingers crossed that it is a good one.

Nope no smoke so far but I havent driven it much post decat yet. I found out about the turbo seals problem while it was in the garage having it done, I'm not to worried tho, things breaking is realy just an excuse to replace them with uprated items :D.
