iv a toad alarm and ifi press the lock button twice (i think) it disables the interior sensors so the alarm doesnt keep going off every 30 seconds when parked with the roof off hth

yea, but wot i want is a cat1 so that i can take and leave the roof off but it is still alarmed so i dont have to worry about valubles from prying hands!

toad ai606 cat1 with a dual zone microwave sensor fitted. with a dual zone, that allows you to arm the alarm with the windows down & roofs off, plus also puts a bubble round the car so if anyone goes too close it gives a warn away bleep. the only problem you will have is, when the alarm is fitted, it HAS to be fitted with everything supplied in the box, which includes the interior sensors. these HAVE to be turned down to the minimum to prevent false alarms.

ok thats great. would you know how much i could get one fitted with these options or the best place to get one from?

you need to have it fitted by a reputable company who is VSIB registered. best bet is to look in the yellow pages under car alarm/security & give a few a ring for quotes. at a guess, you would be looking at around the £350 mark fitted.

I've got a brand new unused 'Hawk HA-101' professional Thatcham Approved CAT 1 (Issue 2) Car Alarm which I bought with the intention of fitting it myself but eventually had a Toad fitted for me.

You can have it for £100.........it includes internal ultrasonic sensors to protect the vehicles interior.

There are several members on here who would fit it for you, or you could DIY!

if i can get someone to fit it that would be great but would need docs for insurence purposes too!?

the paperwork is included in the box, yes. but what hes on about is, whoever fills it in HAS to be VSIB registered, otherwise the insurance company can refuse to insure it. ALL cat1 alarms have to be fitted to a certain standard.

As I've aleady said, "There are several members on here who would fit it for you"...........they would be VSIB registered wouldn't they?

Not many individuals are VSIB registered as its so bloody expensive so its mainly big companies and often does not reflect quality of engineer only how much money is handed over. I would be looking for an MESF registered and qualified installer as this actually means something in the trade. I have been VSIB accredited under the umbrella of 2 companies and some of there fitters were bloody terrible
